يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا كُونُوا قَوَّامِينَ لِلَّهِ شُهَدَاءَ بِالْقِسْطِ ۖ وَلَا يَجْرِمَنَّكُمْ شَنَآنُ قَوْمٍ عَلَىٰ أَلَّا تَعْدِلُوا ۚ اعْدِلُوا هُوَ أَقْرَبُ لِلتَّقْوَىٰ ۖ وَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ خَبِيرٌ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ.
Ya ku waɗanda suka yi imani! Ku kasance masu tsayawa tsayin daka domin Allah, kuna bayar da shaida da adalci. Kada ƙiyayyar wasu mutane ta sa ku bar yin adalci. Ku yi adalci, domin shi ne mafi kusa da taƙawa. Kuma ku ji tsoron Allah. Lalle Allah Masani ne game da abin da kuke aikatawa.

I wish families could resist paying ransom to these criminals. I understand how difficult it is to see a loved one in captivity, but paying ransom only empowers their evil acts and does not guarantee the victim’s freedom.

Kidnapping has become a lucrative business funded by ransom payments. If we stop paying ransom, they may be forced to look for other source of income.

Threatening non-Muslims to convert to Islam or be killed is not Islamic. Our religion, Islam, has never taught that even people living in majority-Muslim areas should be forced to convert or be killed. That idea directly contradicts core Islamic teachings. Islam recognizes the right of non-Muslims to live safely in Muslim-ruled societies. Historically, Christians, Jews and others lived for centuries in Muslim lands practicing their faiths openly.

The Prophet (PBUH) coexisted peacefully with non-Muslims in both Makkah and Madinah. He made treaties guaranteeing their safety, property, and freedom of worship. He never ordered people to convert under threat. Any group that says “convert or be killed” is violating Islamic law and not enforcing it. Their actions are political violence and terrorism, not Islam. Islam teaches justice, mercy and accountability before God. Killing innocent people or coercing belief is a grave sin in Islam.

NSA Ribadu Presents 7,000 Forest Guards for Immediate Deployment

The Federal Government of Nigeria, through the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA), has confirmed the graduation of more than 7,000 Forest Guards recruited from seven frontline states after completing a rigorous three-month training programme under the Presidential Forest Guards Initiative launched in May 2025 by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.

The initiative is a coordinated Federal–State security effort designed to reclaim Nigeria’s forests and deny criminal groups safe havens.
