When I was interning at a Private Equity (PE) fund. I jokingly (but kinda serious) told my seniors that acquiring a nasi padang company via a highly leveraged LBO structure would be one of the best investment in Indonesia’s FnB landscape.

Why? Simple…who the fuck does not eat Nasi Padang in indo brooo. Well-established nasi padang brands have basically created a monopoly on the market, and the barrier to entry is very high to topple established ones.

The market segmentation is also very clear.

Cash flow is not a problem.
