I heard this song in Dhoonidhoo Jail. Its a beautiful love song that I dedicate to my loving wife Nash. I am sharing this with the world as Nash stood by me and fought for me against the whole world. I am so in love with you & want to grow old with you @maryam_nashwa ❤️
Deeply saddened by the passing of the former Emir of Qatar, His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.
I had the privilege of meeting him twice alongside President Dr Mohamed Waheed, during an official state visit to Doha and later during his private visit to the Maldives.
I remember His Highness as a humble, wise, and exceptionally sharp leader whose legacy will endure.
My heartfelt condolences to the Royal Family and the people of Qatar.
May Allah grant him Jannatul Firdaus. Ameen. 🤲
Congratulations to President Dr. Mohamed Waheed @DrWaheedH on the Global Good Governance Award 2026.
His leadership, intellect, and diplomacy set a benchmark for Maldivian governance. Honoured to have served alongside him as a cabinet Minister.
In Loving Memory of My Uncle — Hussain Adam , Niyaama, Raa Atoll, Kinolhas.
I am deeply saddened by the passing away of my uncle from my father’s side, Hussain Adam , a man whose encouragement and belief in me meant the world. He was the first to appreciate me when I became the Maldives’ first Minister and Vice President from Raa Atoll.
I still remember his words back in 2012, the year Maldives celebrated 40 years of tourism. He told me, “There is only one resort in operation in Raa Atoll — our atoll needs development.” Those words stayed with me. I made it my mission to transform our atoll, and today there are more than 18 resorts in operation, most of them signed during my tenure.
As an entrepreneur himself, he recognized and appreciated the change he once dreamed of. Even during my most difficult years — when I was tortured and kept in solitary confinement for three years — he would remind me never to give up on our atoll and our country. His words continue to guide me to this day.
It breaks my heart that I couldn’t be by his side during his final moments, but my prayers and love are with him, my cousins, and our entire family. His spirit will always remain part of Raa Atoll’s story — a legacy of perseverance, pride, and purpose.
May Allah grant him eternal peace. 🤍
Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un.
Today, I bid farewell to Mr. Mohamed Umar Maniku, the undisputed leader of Maldivian tourism.
He was the first to take the bold risk of Investing and creating the “one island, one resort” concept, a vision that defined our nation’s identity and built the foundation of our largest industry. For over 53 years, through MATI and his many advisory roles including the developmemt of the Airport as Chairman of MACL, he protected and guided tourism with wisdom, courage, and unwavering commitment.
M.U belongs to the great first generation who built the Maldives from the ground up. His name deserves to be inscribed among the highest honors of our country—a leader who not only pioneered but also stood steadfast in defense of the industry.
As Minister of Tourism, I had the privilege to learn his stories, his vision and his example of true leadership, that will remain In my memories forever.
Today, I say goodbye to a gret leader and a source of inspiration.
May Allah grant him eternal peace. Rest in power M.U.M.
Wishing courage to his family, and strength to his team at Universal Enterprises, as they carry forward his great legacy.

Honoured to see the new terminal at Velana International Airport finally set to open. It was a privilege to be part of the vision, strategy, and groundwork that made this national milestone possible.
All these developments — including the main components of the airport, bridge, reclaimed cities, and resorts — define the new Maldives we see today.
Grateful to have played a role in reshaping connectivity and transforming the misperception of a sinking island state into a rising hub of luxury and innovation 🇲🇻✅
