7 years too late and more needed but an important and very welcome step for Australia to finally accept the NZ offer to resettle refugees today, to end the suffering of innocent people and put this behind us.

I came to Australia asking for safety when I was just 15 years old.
Now I am 24 and still in detention.
If I'm not a refugee, why would I endure such a difficult time as a child if I have the option to go back to where I came from? Even then, I'm not safe in detention either.
To all the people who've been asking me how they can help:
Raise our voices. Talk about us and share our stories. Call your local MP. And pray for us.
I'm protesting by speaking out. Please protest with me.
Please listen to refugee Mohammed Joy in the Park Hotel, Melbourne, speaking to protesters today.
When the Djokovic saga ends tomorrow, one way or another, the spotlight will move on.
And they’ll still be inside those rooms, crying out for help.
It’s disgusting.

On Novak Djokovic's first day at the Park Hotel Prison, he pulled off a sitting of the Federal Court and the judge asked if he could be moved to a hotel with a tennis court. There are 33 refugees at the Park Hotel Prison who have been detained for 9 years. What about them?
“I have to ask myself, has PM Morrison read the IPCC report because it is important that every country steps up ambitiously now & in particular Australia is out of sync with other western industrialised countries.” - Mary Robinson, fmr President of Ireland & fmr UN climate envoy
🐨 Spotted on Port Macquarie campus: an attempted break and enter into our nursing labs!
We can confirm no arrests were made and that this little champ happily scurried back to their favourite eucalyptus tree after inspecting the campus.

One thing COVID has exposed is the gross lack of education and intelligence in significant parts of the Australian population. This is the result of the downgrading of education for several decades now. Basic scientific literacy, critical thinking… all absent.
