On December 13, our fleet was expanded with another ambulance equipped with the BabyPod system, which allows for the safe transport of infants in serious condition.

Theo's story 🚁

When Theo was born six weeks early and developed a lung infection and apnoea, his local hospital in Truro quickly realised he needed advanced support in a specialist paediatric intensive care unit. Thanks to the National Children's Air Ambulance, Theo and his mum were flown from Truro to London in just 2 hours 3 minutes - a journey that by road would have taken around five hours.

His mum Bethany said: "It felt like the weight was lifted off my shoulders”. She was able to ride beside her little baby and see first-hand the care and dedication of the team every step of the way.

Stories like Theo’s remind us just how powerful it is when families share their experiences. We’re proud to be there for families during difficult moments- helping children reach the care they need, quickly and safely.
