I visited Bumba Primary School in Chimanimani, Manicaland Province! Had a wonderful time with these lovely children and their dedicated teachers. I'm so glad that the borehole we built just 100 meters away has made a real difference—bringing clean water and convenience to both their studies and daily lives.
Every cheerful smile from the children made the 7-hour journey truly worthwhile. May they grow up healthy and happy, and one day give back to their communities with the same kindness they've received. 🇨🇳🇿🇼 收起
H.E. Chinese Ambassador Zhou Ding joined Hon. Daniel Garwe, Minister of Local Government and Public Works of Zimbabwe, at the handover ceremony of the China-aid 300-Borehole Project yesterday. 💧
This vital humanitarian project, funded by Chinese Government grants, was implemented to tackle the devastating impacts of Cyclone Idai and the 2024 severe drought. It has provided clean and reliable water access to over 75,000 residents in 300 villages, 21 districts and four provinces: Mashonaland East, Manicaland, Masvingo and Midlands.
These boreholes are far more than simple water facilities — they are genuine lifelines for local communities 🤝
✅ Cutting down waterborne diseases and safeguarding public health,
✅ Enhancing agricultural resilience,
✅ Supporting local crop farming, livestock and poultry rearing, as well as vegetable cultivation,
✅ Alleviating the daily water-fetching burden on women and children, freeing up time for children’s schooling, adults’ employment and long-term community livelihood development.
Over the past decade, China has assisted Zimbabwe in drilling more than 1,300 water boreholes nationwide, benefiting nearly 500,000 local people and facilitating socioeconomic development of grassroots communities.
🇨🇳🇿🇼 Proud to handover! China Geo successfully completed the China-aid 300 Boreholes Project in 🇿🇼, handed over on June 12! Amb. Zhou Ding & Minister Daniel Garwe celebrated these lifelines, now providing clean water to 75,000+ residents. Building hope & resilience!💧✨
Delighted to join Hon. S. Sibanda, Deputy Minister of @mhtestd, at Harare Polytechnic for the official launch of the China-Zimbabwe Engineering Technology Academy and the China-Zimbabwe Silk Road Teacher Capacity Building Center.
The in-depth tripartite vocational education cooperation between Harare Polytechnic, Ningbo Polytechnic University and Huayou Cobalt is truly commendable. So far, a total of 160 Zimbabwean students and teachers have benefited from this cooperation, among whom 60 graduates are now employed at Prospect Lithium Plant and DISCO.
Building on this solid progress, the newly inaugurated platforms will further cultivate local skilled talents, alleviate brain drain, bolster Zimbabwe’s National Development Strategy 2 (NDS2), and continuously energize 🇨🇳🇿🇼 bilateral cooperation.
After 20 months of diligent effort, the China-aid 300 boreholes project in Zimbabwe has been successfully completed🇿🇼🇨🇳. Our expert team recently conducted field reviews and impact assessments, and the overwhelmingly positive feedback from local villagers has been our most gratifying achievement.
✅ Clean Water: Villagers no longer rely on muddy surface water, even during the rainy season. Families now have access to safe and hygienic borehole water.
✅ Boosting Production: With a stable water source, villagers have expanded their poultry farming and vegetable gardens.
✅ Greater Convenience: Having water readily available at their doorstep has liberated the local labor force, allowing them to pursue other activities.
These boreholes represent more than just a source of water; they are catalysts for community development. 🌍 #Zimbabwe #ChinaAid #ChangingLives #RuralDevelopment
As Zimbabwe’s 2026 tobacco marketing season kicks off, the country’s iconic “golden leaf” continues to shine brightly.
In 2025, Zimbabwe exported tobacco worth US$790 million to China, making China its largest export destination. Tobacco exports to China have also supported 33% of local processing and value addition in Zimbabwe.
With China’s zero-tariff treatment for Zimbabwean and other African products taking effect on May 1, 2026, Zimbabwean tobacco is set to embrace broader prospects and greater opportunities in the Chinese market.

I hosted a Handover Ceremony for the 22nd and 23rd China Medical Teams to Zimbabwe. 🇿🇼
A heartfelt salute to the outgoing 22nd team. During their one-year assignment, they worked tirelessly at Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals and traveled across all 10 provinces to deliver medical services to over 11,000 patients . Through targeted training programs and hands-on guidance, they also shared valuable medical expertise and promoted the transfer of clinical skills and techniques. Their outstanding work has not only strengthened Zimbabwe’s healthcare system but also deepened the profound friendship between our two nations.🇨🇳🇿🇼
A warm welcome to the incoming 23rd Medical Team. May their works continue to bring hope, healing, and comfort to patients and families across Zimbabwe. 🏥🤝
