He said a CEO of a major AI lab views a "Chernobyl-scale catastrophe" as their best-case scenario. Not the worst. The best.

According to their logic, they won't willingly implement real oversight today, even though they easily could. Instead, they’re quietly banking on a body count big enough to force the government’s hand.

They would literally rather wait for a massive disaster to happen than prevent it. Public tragedy is their actual Plan B.
