Last year, it was my pleasure to hv delivered a series of sessions in Swansea at some of the sites that were hoping to be designated as LNR. So it is great to hear of the fantastic news that 14 sites are to hv protected status. Congrats to Swansea Nature Recovery team.
@BISBrecon1 There are only at the moment two records of this Hairy Nuts disco fungi, Lanzia echinophila in Wales. One in North Wales. One I recorded on Saturday in Glamorgan and now this one yesterday at @forestholidays Garwnant so I believe this is a 1st record for Breconshire.
Sketch #2, mammals of @forestholidays Garwnant. I think the Stoat needs a bit more work.. ππ. Just in case the likeness is a bit off - Roe deer, Polecat, Stoat and Otter.
A injury meant being stuck at home on the sofa π’π. So here's a sketch inspired by birds of @forestholidays Garwnant - Nightjar, Willow tit and Crossbill
After a busy summer school season, back to more time recording flora fauna at @forestholidays Garwnant. Just a few highlights:Broad-leaved Helleborine orchid, Painted Lady and Peacock butterflies & a stunning longhorn beetle, Stictoleptura rubra. #natureconnection
Some places feel like they belong in a storybookβ¦ and Puzzlewood is one of them π³β¨
Hidden in the Forest of Dean, this ancient woodland is filled with twisted trees, moss-covered rocks and winding paths that feel like another world.

It was a warm evening with a slight breeze as we headed to a local park for a wander yesterday . 2 highlights - Marbled White butterfly & Pyramidal orchids. There's much to discover if you take your time. Happy #walesnatureweek#getoutside
@forestholidays Garwnant, we try to celebrate nature as we go about our day. Team members have recently spotted - White Ermine moth, Clouded Border moth, Large Yellow Underwing moth, Nuthatch, Ringlet butterfly, Roe deer & Golden-ringed Dragonfly. #walesnatureweek
@BISBrecon1 This Agapanthia villosoviridescens, was recorded yesterday @forestholidays Garwnant site. I believe this may be the first record for VC Breconshire.
Sometimes, you get lucky when a 4 spotted Chaser dragonfly lands on you. Patiently, it posed for its photo. A beautiful creature. Isn't nature just beautiful? #natureconnection
With a wkend up in North Wales, it would be silly not to go twitch a Woodchat Strike at South Stack. Honestly, that is the bird in the photo. The Western Reef-Heron was a bit more elusive at Y Foryd. No photos but managed to just see its head above the grass. 2 lovely life ticks.
