Happy to report I have been stirring the cauldron for a few years now and a new novel has formed in the fumes and will exist as an object by the end of this month! The Butterfly Lampshade. Exploring the sometimes fuzzy lines between mind and world-- in memory and in childhood.
This platform will be set all day and in days to come to promote lies about election fraud. If you see that, remember that it is part of a plan by losers to ruin our democracy.
Heroic poll workers! I'm so grateful for you. If you write fiction and would like some constructive and supportive feedback on a few pages, it would make me happy to do that as a gesture of thanks. Just let me know below. Thank you for all you do! #GoHarrisWalz!

RIP brilliant Quincy Jones. If you need something for distraction during this intense week I so recommend The Greatest Night in Pop doc about "We Are the World" where Quincy Jones is like the most amazing group pop singer therapist and calms everyone down.
I finished Middlemarch today. What a magnificent achievement; the final words are a peerlessly wise & humane philosophy of life. I’ve never seen the much-lauded 1990s BBC adaptation, which is on iPlayer. Grateful for advice on whether I should watch it.

"A story is not like a road to follow … it's more like a house. You go inside & stay there for a while, wandering back & forth ... discovering how the rooms & corridors relate to each other, how the world outside is altered by being viewed from these windows." - Alice Munro
We at the Review mourn the loss of Alice Munro (1931–2024). In memory of her life and work, we’ve unlocked her Art of Fiction interview from our archive.

Munro! Recently listened to the audio of Runaway while driving around because I wanted to hear “Powers” again (so good, read beautifully by Kymberly Dakin)and heard the story “Runaway” about the goat and grasped it more clearly and it is so scary and sadWhat vision she had. RIP.
