I finished reading #DemonCopperhead yesterday and I'm not sure what I think about it other than it's certainly a page-turner. On the tube two different people told me how brilliant it was. I think I might be in a minority here.

@ViragoBooks I bought The Edible Woman by Margaret Atwood from John Menzie's on Princes Street in Edinburgh when I was a student in 1980. It cost £2.50 which was quite a lot for a broke student but I have never regretted it and I still have the same copy.

I was horrified to discover today that only one person in my writing class has heard of Barbara Pym.

I am finding this story about the Titanic fascinating - my great-grandfather was part of the crew that delivered the ship from Belfast to Southampton. Luckily he declined the offer to stay on board for the maiden voyage.
