A physical AI you build from scratch. Personality. Voice. Knowledge base. Press the button, talk, release, listen. It becomes whoever you need it to be. $27.
AIPI Labs is on Discord!
If you've built something with an AlPI Lite — robot, droid, TTRPG DM, kitchen helper, multi-device home — come show us.
If you're thinking about building one, come lurk.

Spent today reading four weeks of customer interviews for our voice AI device. Same $27 product. Different meaning to every person who owns it: a maker building Star Wars droids in his garage, a parent setting up safe agents for his 9-year-old, a presenter using it on stage in Edinburgh, a son who recovered his late father's voice from old YouTube videos, an enterprise evaluator in Germany, a guy with a comedy companion.
If you want to build AI hardware, the hard part isn't buying an #ESP32. It's everything around it: power, audio, enclosure, interaction, getting it into a form you actually want to keep building on.
That's why a lot of people start from a device, not a bare chip.
This is what that means in practice.
On the front: screen, mic, speaker, buttons, status LED.
On the back: power, serial, GPIO, and room to connect outward.
AIPI Lite starts as a usable AI device,
not a bare board.
But it doesn't end there.
The interesting part isn't our demo.
It's what people do once they get one:
trace the board,
bridge it to local models,
fork it into something we never planned.
That's the real signal!!!
noise754 bridged AIPI to a local LLM on his own box.
Whisper + DeepSeek + gTTS.
None of our cloud involved.
Open-sourced it.
Told people to fork it.

sticks918 mapped the board, traced the components,
and turned AIPI Lite into an ESPHome-ready device.
Not "AI companion" marketing.
Actual pins. Actual hardware docs!
