Took my time to read and digest what's going on before commenting. My thoughts:
1. Netanyahu lost grip on his power, and was unable to win the elections. He became PM with the support of several parties, forming a coalition. The younger generation of Israelis had enough with war. There were even Jews who started speaking up for Palestinians.
2. Hamas on the other hand was at risk of losing relevance. Gaza has not had an election since 2006. Lower number of recruits and lesser funds combined with some Palestinians questioning their true intentions meant the status quo was being destabilized.
3. Israel - Saudi Arabia were in the midst of making progress towards a new chapter in bilateral relations. This posed a major risk to Iran. Ideological, geographical, military, and economic issues all would come into play.
4. Hamas' capabilities while extremely dangerous, is nowhere near to the IDF and Mossad. This is simply because Hamas does not have access to the types of technology and intelligence that Israel possesses. It is impossible that no one within Israel intelligence knew Hamas was going to strike and even more strange that they had a free opening (Israel moved troops away).
5. We are now supposed to believe that all the above are mere coincidences. Meanwhile innocent people continue to die.
6. I stand with Palestinians. I hope they get the justice they deserve, their land, freedom and rights. But I fear they may never get it because Hamas' and Netanyahu's relevance and power requires war to persist.
@CitImmCanada It's 24th week since I apply for SOWP, still no news. Submitted my additional documents 2 months ago. Sent my enquiry to Philippine's office 3 weeks ago, got nothing, no surprise. Thanks for all the sleepless night.
@postcardofexile the last thing they ever wanted is a new player jump into the market they dominated, not to mention someone with the passion and mayb the creativity they lack of. cut down your resources is a complete no brainer for them
@yoongells people are putting list of "alternative" everywhere, I can imagine someone in the office smiling and cross-checking the list with their info while planning which site to put down next...
@khalidkarim if "middle person" is the only reason our leader could think of, then we are really in huge trouble. and the fact that no one point it out loud especially those involve heavily in farming industry and economy, is pure tragedy to our country
