@PlumptonCollege any danger of actually giving a timetable out for level 3 adventure education course? Was supposed to be Friday, then today now Wednesday, we can’t book bus places organise work shifts, driving lessons etc. surely it’s not rocket science to issue a timetable?
@UAVHive@UK_CAA Yeah it’s getting to a point that maybe as operators we should just ignore CAP722C and fly in FRZ until we go back to why it was brought in, namely safety not another udder to milk for cash
@UK_CAA@UAVHive why when airports choose to ignore CAP722C and charge for flying in their FRZ is it completely ignored? Does that mean as a drone operator I can ignore CAP722C as well as it appears it’s not worth the part it’s written on #drone#dronelaws#clowns
One of a number of commercial drone operators in the UK to recently sack it in.
The CAA moves the goal posts continually, charging people to essentially prove the same competency every year.
All while spending stupid amounts on IT & ignoring any actual drone misuse.
@UAVHive It gets worse the more you read the comments on that post, the comments are full of operators about to do the same, looks like the @UK_CAA may have wasted £8m on system no one will be using
@UK_CAA@MikeKaneMP@transportgovuk@UAVHive can the CAA and Dft show the forecast for growth in the UAS sector following the latest announcement that UAS costs are going up at a disproportional rate? Or has that element not been considered? #shortsighted
@gorilladrones@UAVHive@ARPASUK@UK_CAA It does absolutely nothing to aid growth in the sector which surely has to be counter productive. I’m also confused who requested this system that’s cost eye watering money, that we are picking the bill up for.
.@Heidi_Labour@MikeKaneMP@TahirAliMP@Keir_Starmer
today the @UK_CAA confirmed the decision to disproportionately increase permission fees for UK drone operators, going against stakeholder consultation feedback. this will stunt future sector growth & hurts business ‘now’ …
@UAVHive@ARPASUK But yeah the business case needs looking at as really the only people to gain from this are the regulator as they can manage thier workload by deferring reviews, but it’s at our cost.
@xjet@UK_CAA@transportgovuk @tomrutland @MikeKaneMP@UAVHive@BBCNews@itvnews Even more interesting will be how they stop those operators that no longer renew but carry on anyway, let’s be honest here they again have done zero to stop it in the past so have made a rod for their own back
@UK_CAA@transportgovuk @tomrutland @MikeKaneMP@UAVHive@BBCNews@itvnews
How does jumping from £234 to £500 to renew drone permissions help innovation and growth in a sector that is already struggling with the economic downturn turn, surely we should be encouraging growth
@xjet@UK_CAA@transportgovuk @tomrutland @MikeKaneMP@UAVHive@BBCNews@itvnews Yep, it’s astounding how much the regulator has pushed the sector to distrust them so much, the relationship is built on trust and the regulator has well and truely burnt that bridge and shown their true colours
@UAVHive@xjet Yeah unfortunately this one they dropped the ball on by trying to justify it with false figures etc, anyone would think they are trying to make it impossible to follow
@xjet@UK_CAA@transportgovuk @tomrutland @MikeKaneMP@UAVHive@BBCNews@itvnews Totally but the consultation was just a box ticking excercise and lip service to make it appear they were doing the right thing. They literally do zero to help the drone sector, or themselves
