I lost touch with a friend (Keisha Maylyn Dedrick), back in June 2018. It would be awesome to reconnect sometime. I'm not sure if she is on the "X" platform; but perhaps someone she knows, is. Can be DM'd here.

π¨ Canadaβs Bill C-22 is here & itβs the same surveillance bill from last year's failed C-2. π¨
What does this mean?
β Your metadata would be stored by electronic service providers - for example messaging and email providers - for up to 12 months.
β The government would force these companies to build surveillance capabilities directly into their platforms.
The government calls it βlawful accessβ but we know that forcing providers to enable access to encrypted data puts EVERYONE'S privacy & security at risk. π‘
Because we know that there is no backdoor for the good guys only!
Help us fight for Canadian's privacy & say no to this surveillance bill.
Send a letter to reject Bill C-22 here π https://t.co/hDvhLlAT6T

@IntCyberDigest There is nothing wrong with the #Signal protocol itself. If a device using #Signal was compromised: it was likely due to either the way the device user was using the other apps on their phone...OR - they werein contact with someone that was far less careful about their security.
@TutaPrivacy I thought Canada at least, would be above this kind of crap. Obviously not. What can ordinary citizens do? And how are politicians, journalists etc, going to protect themselves? Because we all know they still will have their privacy!
@2runX@ThreemaApp Isn't this "data storage" all E2EE anyway? No-one can sneak a peek at it, anyway. Those "administrative functions" you refer to: what would you like to see? Have you passed suggestions on, to the Threema Devs? By "costs"; are you referring to the quite small, & onetime fee?
@ProtonVPN@ProtonPrivacy The possible requirement to upload a copy of Govt ID. Not going to happen for me. This is all a drive to create a mass surveillance data base; nothing to do with protecting kids. Such a database, is going to end up being a juicy target for hackers.
