Omar 13 and Zakaria 12, children of my elder brother, Ibrahim who waited for them for long, exerting time, money and effort until they hailed to fill his life with joy and hope. Both are now gone forever. I cannot even use the word that describes the appalling incident/bombing that snatched them in one go: killed? No. Vanished forever? Unbelievable. One needs much energy to fathom what is going on. I cannot imagine how much love, care and attention they received from their parents who strove to make them a success story. They were always together: to school, to education centers, to uncles' to aunts', to entertainment places, to the nearby shop, to the sea. You cannot see Omar without seeing Zakaria. On their way to death they were together too. When our neighborhood was heavily bombarded two (or three?) months ago, their parents thought it might be a good idea to send them to what they believed to be a safer zone. It was bombed and they both were killed. Together.
