The most strategic company in robotic warfare isn’t building the robot.

The hardware layer is evolving in ever faster cycles. Enter Aitan: the control layer that lets allied nations continuously integrate the best available systems.

Jewish billionaire Michael Dell’s company is helping two Israeli army veterans secure $41 million for Aitan, the military-robot company they built using technology already operating alongside the IDF. Dell Technologies Capital helped lead the deal, bringing Aitan’s total funding to $54 million.

Aitan was founded by former Unit 8200 officers Udi Oster and Daniel Almog. Its technology allows soldiers to control entire groups of drones and unmanned vehicles together, instead of operating every machine separately. Aitan says its systems have already completed more than 500,000 combat hours with the IDF and Israeli security agencies.

The two founders previously built the Israeli delivery company Tapingo, which was sold to Grubhub for approximately $150 million. They returned to build Aitan after October 7 and now employ approximately 50 people in Ramat Gan.

The company was named after Oster’s younger brother, IDF Captain Eitan Oster, who was killed while serving with Israel’s elite Egoz unit in Lebanon. Aitan is also helping develop the control system for the IDF’s next generation of attack drones.

This is a business investment, not a donation. Dell and the other investors are providing money in exchange for ownership in Aitan, giving the Israeli company the power to expand its team and bring its battle-tested military technology to the United States and other allied countries.
