The shirtless protest by members of the Indian Youth Congress at the AI Summit reflects poor judgment. At a forum attended by international leaders and global business figures, such conduct sends the wrong message about our national priorities.
Democracy guarantees the right to protest but it also demands responsibility. When representing India before the world, partisan theatrics must give way to maturity and restraint.
Political differences can be fought relentlessly but never at the expense of the nation’s honour and dignity.
“বাংলার মাটি, বাংলার জল, বাংলার বায়ু, বাংলার ফল--
পুণ্য হউক, পুণ্য হউক, পুণ্য হউক হে ভগবান॥”
I extend my heartfelt greetings and congratulations to people across the world who cherish and celebrate their mother tongues with pride. Yesterday, on the solemn occasion of Bhasha Dibas, at the Bhasha Smritistambha at Deshapriya Park, I offered floral tributes to the brave souls whose sacrifice ensured that we may speak our mother tongue without fear. Their martyrdom transformed language into a symbol of democratic assertion and cultural self-respect.
I was also privileged to honour eminent personalities from diverse walks of life with the Banga Bibhushan and Banga Bhushan award. Their presence, and the songs and poetry that filled the air, elevated the spirit of the observance into a celebration of Bengal’s creative genius. I was also pleased to confer the Banga Bhushan honour upon Star Jalsha and Zee Bangla in recognition of their significant contribution to Bengal’s cultural landscape.
Bengal, and India, are lands of many languages and cultures. As we love Bangla with devotion, we equally respect Hindi, Urdu, Nepali, Kurukh, Kurmali, Rajbanshi, Santali, Kamtapuri, Sadri and every other language spoken across our soil. Each language carries within it the history, memory and aspirations of its people. This unity in diversity is our greatest strength.
It pains me deeply that divisive forces are attempting to malign and target those who speak Bangla, labelling them as “Ghuspaithiya”, subjecting them to humiliation and persecution. Such actions strike at the very heart of constitutional values. We shall never allow Bengal’s culture, heritage or identity to be undermined by intolerance or narrow-minded politics.
Let 21st February renew our collective pledge that no communal or divisive force shall fracture Bengal’s harmony; that no attempt to erode our linguistic pride shall succeed; and that we shall uphold the inclusive and secular ethos that defines us. The glory our mother tongue has bestowed upon us before the world is a legacy we are duty-bound to protect.
Jai Hind. Joy Bangla.

I am deeply moved and genuinely heartened to learn that Sunali Khatun has given birth to a healthy baby boy at Rampurhat Medical College, Birbhum. This moment of joy feels even more profound against the backdrop of the injustice she was subjected to. In a shocking abuse of power, she was FALSELY BRANDED as a Bangladeshi and FORCIBLY DEPORTED TO BANGLADESH by the Delhi Police and the Union Government.
Her ordeal was a violation of dignity that no citizen, least of all a pregnant mother, should ever be forced to endure. Yet, through it all Sunali displayed extraordinary courage and resolve.
This is a triumph of humanity. Tomorrow, during my visit to Birbhum, I will personally meet Sunali at the hospital to convey my best wishes to her and her newborn. My prayers remain with her family.

Public life is not measured in titles or positions, but the depth of connection one shares with the people. Every gesture of trust, every word of encouragement, every blessing received from them is a reminder of the sacred bond that defines true leadership.
On my birthday today, the warmth and affection showered upon me by countless well-wishers have left me overwhelmed. Their love is a solemn reminder of the duty I carry and the promise I must uphold.
Serving our Gonodebota is a privilege that gives meaning to every effort and every challenge we take on. It is their faith that strengthens my resolve to keep moving forward, to build, to serve, and to dedicate every moment to the greater good.
The Election Commission is deliberately planting selective leaks to falsely claim that they have provided a point-by-point rebuttal to the issues raised by the AITC delegation today. These assertions are not just misleading, they are OUTRIGHT LIES. If the EC truly has nothing to hide and actually believes in transparency, then instead of hiding behind motivated leaks, it must immediately release the full CCTV footage and every piece of evidence it claims to possess. Anything less only exposes their bad faith and raises serious questions about their intent.
And let me add this clearly: A few hours will always be too short , take as many days as you want to answer the five basic questions we placed before you.
We have ENOUGH DIGITAL EVIDENCE to prove how your narrative is being distorted through planted, fabricated leaks. So THINK TWICE before you choose to pick a fight with West Bengal and @AITCofficial .
I understand your frustration, Mr. SIR, but facts do not bend to convenience. If energy is available for planting stories, surely it can be redirected to answering the five simple questions.
Your Time starts NOW!
When BJP’s propaganda ecosystem starts recycling four-month old notifications to whip up fake excitement and glorify the EC, it exposes just one truth : Mr. SIR’s strategy hasn’t JUST FAILED, it has COLLAPSED in full public view.
Despite deploying every weapon at their command- The Union government’s machinery, EC, ED, CBI, IT, Central Forces, a captive media and even convenient pockets of the judiciary - the BJP still knows BENGAL WILL BEAT THEM AGAIN and return with a bigger mandate than 2021.
So here’s my simple question to @BJP4India leaders:
Do you dare accept my challenge or will you keep hiding behind stale propaganda and state power?
‘বহুরূপে সম্মুখে তোমার, ছাড়ি কোথা খুঁজিছ ঈশ্বর?
জীবে প্রেম করে যেই জন, সেই জন সেবিছে ঈশ্বর।’
There is no duty greater, no responsibility more sacred than public service. With that conviction and with a renewed sense of purpose, Sebaashray 2 begins today, dedicated to safeguarding the health and dignity of the people of Diamond Harbour.
This time, the initiative will span across all 7 Assembly segments, running continuously until 22 January 2026, followed by Mega Camps from 24–28 January, 2026.
Altogether, 165 General Camps and 8 Model Camps will be organised, each one designed to bring quality medical care directly to the people.
As before, Sebaashray will continue to provide:
👉 Free health camps open to all
👉 Free distribution of essential medicines
👉 Free spectacles and hearing aid devices
👉 On-site, immediate diagnostic testing
👉 Advanced referral services for specialised treatment
👉 Single-person registration for effortless access
👉 Real-time digital monitoring for complete transparency
I am confident that, just like last time, this massive people-centric initiative will once again be etched in golden letters in the history of public service.
Today marks the beginning of a new chapter via #Sebaashray2, driven by a powerful promise:
"Service must reach every doorstep" and that dignity, care, and well-being belong to every citizen, without exception.
And on Day 1, we saw that promise come alive in the most tangible ways:
🚑 27 health camps brought care closer to the people
🔬 1,577 diagnostic tests ensured early detection and timely action
💊 1,407 individuals received essential medicines at no cost
🏥 2,703 people visited our camps, each receiving guidance and support
🏥 93 patients were referred for advanced treatment
Each number represents a life touched, a worry eased, a family supported. It reflects the dedication of our doctors, nurses, volunteers, and every frontline worker who make Sebaashray not just a program, but a movement of compassion.
Together, we are building a Diamond Harbour where healthcare is accessible, dependable, and dignified, not a privilege for a few, but a right for all.
Service to the people is at the heart of every initiative we undertake.
Today, I inaugurated #Sebaashray2 in Maheshtala, renewing our pledge to protect the health and dignity of every citizen of Diamond Harbour. I reviewed the systems, spoke with doctors, nurses, volunteers, and listened to the people whose trust keeps this mission alive.
And while Bangla-birodhi zamindars hover, hoping to bully this land into submission, we answer with something they can’t manufacture: care, competence, and compassion.
The BJP’s chaotic, vindictive SIR has already claimed 40 innocent lives, thrown thousands into terror, and exposed their deep-seated contempt for Bengal and its people.
Here’s a challenge to the BJP: if @AITCOfficial’s seat share rises in the upcoming elections, they must bow to Bengal, seek forgiveness, and release the ₹2 lakh crore owed to the state within seven days.
If they possess even a flicker of shame, they’ll accept.
If not, Bengal already knows: hatred for this state is @BJP4India’s only true ideology.
In two days alone, #Sebaashray2 has reasserted the principles of humane, people-centric governance. What unfolds before us is not just continuity, but the resurgence of a unified moral will.
From doctors and nurses to field coordinators, diagnostic teams, and volunteers, every stakeholder has stepped forward with a single, unwavering purpose: to ensure that quality healthcare reaches every individual who seeks it.
Even at this early stage, the momentum is unmistakable:
👉 7,002 total registrations since inception of Sebaashray 2.
🚑 27 health camps brought care closer to the people
🔬 3184 diagnostic tests ensured early detection and timely action
💊 3079 individuals received essential medicines at no cost
🏥 4299 people visited our camps, each receiving guidance and support
🏥 166 patients were referred for advanced treatment
#Sebaashray2 embodies a model of governance where efficiency meets compassion, and where every citizen, regardless of circumstance, is treated with the dignity they deserve.
As this renewed chapter unfolds, one truth becomes clear:
when service becomes a shared responsibility, progress becomes inevitable.
The truest measure of governance lies in accountability, transparency, and the courage to place the people at the centre of every decision. Fourteen and a half years ago, when Smt. @MamataOfficial assumed leadership of Bengal, she set in motion a transformative journey that redefined the meaning of progress, and restored dignity, opportunity, and hope to millions.
The Unnayon she has championed has strengthened individuals, secured families, energised neighbourhoods, and empowered entire regions. It has nurtured an ecosystem where every community, women, students, farmers, workers, and the marginalized, across caste, creed, and faith, can aspire, advance, and thrive together.
Today at Nabanna Sabhaghar, she presented a comprehensive account of this extraordinary journey through Bengal’s timeless oral tradition of Panchali. Every verse of this Panchali carries stories of transformed lives, revitalised sectors, and inclusive development that reaches the last mile. It is a narrative of progress shaped by consistent, compassionate, and people-centred action.
Above all, this Panchali is a tribute to the immense love, trust, and blessings of the people of Bengal. They remain the guiding force behind every initiative, every reform, and every step towards a future rooted in justice, equity, and shared prosperity. This is the spirit of Unnayon that belongs to the people, is inspired by the people, and is accountable to the people.
