The freedom of speech and expression is being taken away from lakhs of citizens across the country.
This BJP government does not care about Article 14, Article 19 and Article 21 of our great Constitution. This government wants to deprive all citizens, including elected representatives, of their right to express themselves freely.
We extend our support to students, youth, social media users, vloggers, YouTubers, and independent digital platforms. We demand that they must be allowed to express themselves freely. Full strength to them as we, all together, fight this dangerous trend of censorship.
Instead of indulging in atrocities against citizens on social media, this government should focus on taking care of the North East along with ensuring the safety and security of all people across the country.

I can understand the desperate motive to extend the custody of Ashutosh and Saurav. This is a dangerous virus being used on a daily basis to attack democracy. Stop torturing the boys and girls of Gen Z. Those in power today, will not be in power tomorrow. From Kolkata to Delhi to Mumbai - throughout the country, atrocities have reached unprecedented levels. When our forefathers stood up to colonial rulers, they too had to face atrocities and yet they fought with conviction and valor. Let me say it clearly: this is state-sponsored terrorism. These are police-sponsored atrocities. These cannot sustain for long. When people with conviction keep standing up strongly for the cause, to Save India, to Save Democracy- only then will these arrogant and blindfolded politicians in government open their eyes. By that time the people would have won, and the murderers of democracy will be finished.
If you believe in democracy, release Ashutosh and Saurav immediately.

The Tricolour 🇮🇳 is a symbol of our freedom, yet waving it can land a citizen in seven days of judicial custody. What a tragic irony for the world’s largest democracy.

No police, no civic volunteers, no ambulances, no crowd management! This is what local residents are stating in the wake of the tragic stampede at Chorebagan Puja Pandal.

@KolkataPolice and the @BJP4Bengal administration must answer for these grave lapses. Public safety cannot be treated so casually.

As the death toll rises, who will take responsibility? Will @SuvenduWB accept accountability and resign?

On the very day @AmitShah arrives, Bengal is confronted with this heartbreaking tragedy.

1) মেডিকেল কলেজ মর্গে 19 জনের দেহ। ময়নাতদন্ত। আমরা চাই দ্রুত। এবং পুলিশি সহযোগিতায় পরিবার যাতে মসৃণভাবে শেষকৃত্য করতে পারেন।
2) মেডিকেলে কোনো জখম নেই। রাতে চিকিৎসাধীন অবস্থাতেই অন্তত 13 জনকে মূলত অ্যাপোলোতে পাঠানো হয়েছে। অমিত শাহ যাতে ঝাঁ চকচকে হাসপাতালে তাঁদের দেখতে গিয়ে ভাবেন সরকার কত ভালো কাজ করছে। তাছাড়া অন্য কেউ দেখা করতে পারবে না। অলিখিতভাবে মুখ বন্ধ। ঘটনার বর্ণনার বাইট আসবে না। আমরা জখমদের দ্রুত আরোগ্য কামনা করি।
3) পুজো কমিটির মূল কর্তারা, পুলিশ ও পুরসভার গাফিলতিতে দায়ীরা এখনও গ্রেপ্তার হয়নি। নিচুস্তরের কয়েকজনকে আটক করে লোকদেখানি নাটকের খবর আসছে।

After Baruipur Court, Bankshall Court, Chandannagar and Salboni, another brutal attack today. This time at the residence of Sr Advocate Bikash Ranjan Bhattacharyya in Kolkata. Evidence on video confirms the brazenness such attackers have towards law enforcement in West Bengal. I strongly condemn such continuing attacks on the legal fraternity.

It is true that in the past 15 years Bikash da and us have often been on different sides of the ideological and legal divide. However, the line of decency was never crossed. We have faith in the Constitution and the Judiciary. However, today all voices of dissent are being crushed- from Parliament to the Assembly to Local Bodies to Courts of Law. As an Advocate myself, I am short of words to express my solidarity, but I am determined to call for Unity Of Advocates irrespective of political beliefs. We must save the Constitution, the Bar, the Bench, the State and, most importantly, our dear motherland. Our India.

The “lawlessness” of West Bengal, with Cases of 2454 Rapes, 600 Murders, 13,114 Attempted to Murders and 32,341 Grievous Assaults in the past five months has converted itself to a State Sponsored Anarchy where Advocates, who are Officers of the Court, are being attacked throughout the State. Only a consolidated resistance remains to be the sole remedy.

🚨 SHOCKING: 2,400+ RAPE CASES IN BENGAL IN JUST 5 MONTHS UNDER BJP! 🚨

@BJP4Bengal is turning Bengal into a place where women and ordinary citizens are increasingly being forced to live in fear.

According to the State Crime Records Bureau, nearly 2,454 rape cases were recorded in just 5 months.

And the numbers don’t stop there:

🔴 600 murder cases
🔴 13,114 attempted murder cases
🔴 32,341 cases of assault causing grievous hurt

Let that sink in.

Is this the “safe and secure Bengal” BJP promised?

Is this what they meant by “Bhorsha In, Bhoy Out”?

Because the reality on the ground tells a very different story.

A Bengal where crime is rising, criminals feel emboldened, and women increasingly fear for their safety is not a Bengal anyone should accept as normal.

The people of Bengal deserve security, accountability and justice - not JUMLAS.

And @SuvenduWB, you cannot keep hiding behind slogans and hollow promises. SHAME ON YOU.

YOU have failed the people of Bengal.

We have been saying it since Day 1 - and with every passing day, your failures are becoming harder to hide!

If this is true, the chronology deserves attention.

The last Lok Sabha 2024 election was conducted under Rajiv Kumar as CEC. He is now Chairman of HDFC Bank.

If there is evidence of criminal wrongdoing, investigate it. Prosecute it. Let the law decide.

After all, what is a “Double engine” government for if both engines go silent exactly when accountability arrives at the station?
