The main accused in today’s assault on @GBA_office officers in Shivajinagar, Basavaraj Padukote, has been arrested within 10 hours. He had switched off his phone and gone into hiding, but the police formed multiple teams, tracked him down, and arrested him while he was attempting to escape.
My sincere thanks to the police @BlrCityPolice for their swift and determined action.

🚨 Your visa stamp expired but you're still lawfully in the U.S.? Texas wants to say that means you can't prove who you are for a driver license. You have until July 26 to push back.
Texas DPS has proposed amending 37 TAC § 15.24 to strike the words "or expired" from its identity-document rule. Today, a foreign passport with a valid or expired U.S. visa, paired with an unexpired Form I-94, can establish identity for a Texas driver license or ID card. Under the proposed change, the visa stamp would have to be valid.
Here is why that matters. A visa stamp is a travel document. It gets you to the border and asks for admission. Once you are admitted, your Form I-94 controls how long you may remain, and USCIS can extend or change your status without ever issuing a new stamp. Millions of people are lawfully present in the United States right now with an expired stamp in their passport. Their status is real, current, and verifiable through the federal SAVE system.
The proposed rule ignores that distinction and treats an expired stamp as if it undermines your identity, which it does not.
The people most at risk are those who move to Texas after their stamp has already expired. Picture someone who entered on a valid visa, worked in another state, received an extension from USCIS, and relocated here for a new job. Valid passport. Current I-94. Approved petition. Out-of-state license. And yet, under this rule, no workable way to establish identity for a Texas license, because the passport alone and the out-of-state license each count only as supporting documents.
If you are affected, or if you employ, teach, or treat people who are, please submit a comment before July 26.

Texas can still avoid codifying a federal defect that would leave lawfully present residents unable to drive to work, care for their families, or live their daily lives. But the agency only hears from us if we write.

We sat down with @inorganicdee, Deepak Shapeti, Co Founder and CEO of Morphing Machines, for what might be our most fascinating conversation yet.
Morphing Machines is designing reconfigurable AI chips that can adapt to different computing workloads, a radically different approach from conventional chips.
We spoke about semiconductors, AI chips, India's technology future, founder failures, philosophy, resilience, Stanford, and what it really takes to build deep tech from India.

A Letter to the Community
Over the past several months, IAAC has been working to build a more serious and structured response to the challenges facing Indian Americans.
Our priority has been to move beyond temporary outrage and create lasting mechanisms for documentation, public awareness, victim support, and institutional engagement.
That work now includes the recurring Stop Indian Hate Tracker, the Indian Hate Network, practical Know Your Rights resources, long-form research and commentary through the IAAC Substack, rapid-response community alerts, and support for individuals seeking credible legal, governmental, law-enforcement, or media assistance.
We have also worked to ensure that verified cases receive sustained attention rather than disappearing after a brief news cycle.
IAAC remains young . There is still significant work ahead, including stronger research systems, deeper professional partnerships, better public resources, and a more durable support network for those who approach us during difficult circumstances.
We will continue to develop that work carefully and responsibly.
If you are running a food, beverage, artistanal goods, agri products, tech or even IT services business and looking for guidance to expand beyond India, here is a great opportunity.
@karnatakadem (KDEM) is hosting a Global Market Access session at the Mysore Big Tech Show on 23rd July in Mysore. Business and Govt delegates from France, Denmark, Netherlands, Japan and UK are expected to attend and give guidance about how to take your products/services to those markets. I will be moderating this session.

In 2016, Dr. Geetha Manjunath was heading AI research at Xerox's Bengaluru lab, a role that followed a PhD from IISc, a stint as Principal Scientist at HP Labs, and over two decades building enterprise AI systems. Then her cousin, in her early forties, was diagnosed with breast cancer at a stage too advanced to treat.
"The mammogram had missed her cancer earlier," Geetha would later say. She quit her job soon after.
Mammography, the global standard for breast cancer screening, has real limits. It uses ionising radiation, is often painful enough that women actively avoid it, and is known to be less reliable in younger women and in the dense breast tissue common across Indian women. In India, where breast cancer accounts for over a quarter of all cancer diagnoses and the five-year survival rate trails far behind the United States and Australia, late detection is not a statistic. It is the difference between a cure and a funeral.
Geetha had spent years working with thermal imaging on unrelated projects. She wondered if temperature variation in breast tissue could reveal what mammograms missed, and built the science to test it. The result, Thermalytix, requires no radiation, no incisions, and no physical contact: a woman sits before a thermal sensor for a few minutes, and an AI model trained on clinical data analyses the image.
Niramai Health Analytix, the company Geetha founded and now leads as CEO and CTO, has since screened over 300,000 women across more than 20 countries, built on 39 patents and validated in 55+ peer-reviewed clinical studies. Geetha herself has been named to Forbes India's Top 20 Self-Made Women and inducted as a Fellow of the Indian National Academy of Engineering.
For India, where cost and discomfort keep millions of women away from regular screening, a radiation-free test that can be deployed in a primary clinic is not a convenience. It is a chance to catch what would otherwise be caught too late.

Indian-American couple Brij Agarwal and Sunita Agarwal have donated $5.5 million to expand healthcare services in Texas, including support for St. Luke's Health–Sugar Land Hospital and a new primary care clinic.
Funny how stories like this rarely go viral. The same people obsessed with pushing anti-India narratives won't be making podcasts or headlines about Indian-Americans funding hospitals, improving healthcare access, and giving back to the communities that helped them succeed.
The donation is the largest single gift in the hospital's history, with its main patient tower and pavilion now being named in the Agrawals' honour.
To my Indian and Indian-American followers:
I want you to know I’m fully in your corner.
After doing a detailed search, @Grok told me I appear to be the only white American combat veteran on this platform who is consistently and publicly defending Indians and Indian-Americans against the current wave of hate.
I’m not doing this for clout.
I’m doing it because it’s the right thing to do, and I will keep standing up for you.
Just wanted you to know where I stand.
