'SABIHIN NIYA MISMO SA PLENARYO NA SIYA AY NAGKAMALI'

Senator Robin Padilla urged Senator Kiko Pangilinan Pangilinan to apologize to him at the plenary session on Wednesday following their heated exchange yesterday, May 12, 2026.

In his speech, Padilla said the rules of the Senate clearly call for order and proper conduct at all times and added that senior legislators should model this behavior.

Pangilinan responded by suggesting that the matter be handled by the ethics committee instead of taking up plenary time.

"Ang suggestion ko, isampa niya 'yung ethics case at doon na po sa ethics committee natin pag-usapan ito dahil marami pang ibang mas importantent bagay sa aking paniniwala ang dapat nating talakayin," he said.

Padilla, however, maintained that respect for Senate rules should not be sidelined. "Wala na po sigurong mas importante kung rules of the Senate ang pinag-uusapan natin. So, ang ibig sabihin ba niyan, hindi kayang humingi ng paumanhin ng isang veteran senator para sa kanyang pagtaas ng boses?"
