ஒரு CPI graphic-ஐ எடுத்துக்கொண்டு, பெட்ரோல்–டீசல் விலை உயர்வையும் அதோடு முடிச்சுப் போட்டு, “மாற்றம்?” என்று கேட்பதற்கு முன் இந்த அடிப்படை விஷயங்களை தெரிந்துகொள்ளுங்கள்:

🔸 5.44% என்பது ஜூலை 2026 CPI. ஜூலை 2025-ஐ ஒப்பிடும் 12 மாத YoY inflation. இது நேற்று பதவியேற்ற அரசின் கணக்கு அல்ல.

🔸புதிய அரசு மே 10, 2026 அன்று தான் பதவியேற்றது. ஜூலை 2026 CPI-யில் உள்ள 12 மாத comparison-ல் பெரும்பாலான காலம் உங்கள் திமுக ஆட்சிதான்.

🔸அதற்கு மேலாக, ஜூன் மாதத்திலேயே தமிழகத்தின் inflation உயர்ந்திருந்தது. ஆகவே “புதிய அரசு வந்ததும் inflation அதிகரித்துவிட்டது” என்ற கதை தரவுகளால் அடிபட்டுவிடுகிறது.

🔸பெட்ரோல்–டீசல் விலையில் சர்வதேச crude oil விலை, மத்திய அரசின் excise duty, மாநில VAT ஆகியவை தாக்கம் செலுத்துகின்றன. Hormuz நெருக்கடியால் உலகளவில் crude விலை உயர்ந்த சூழலை வசதியாக மறைத்துவிட்டு, தமிழக அரசை மட்டும் குற்றம் சாட்டுவது வெறும் அரசியல்.

🔸“திமுக ஆட்சியில் ஒருபோதும் இந்திய சராசரியை விட அதிகமாக போகவில்லை” என்கிறீர்கள். அந்த வரலாற்றுக் கூற்றுக்கு இந்த ஒரு July 2026 graphic என்ன ஆதாரம்? Graphic-ஐ வைத்து வரலாற்றையே எழுத முடியாது, ஐயா! 😂

தரவைப் பார்த்து அரசியல் செய்வது வேறு;,அரசியலுக்காக தரவைத் திரித்து மக்களை ஏமாற்றுவது வேறு. 🤷‍♂️

100 நாட்கள் கூட முழுமையாக ஆகாத அரசின் மீது, கடந்த 12 மாத CPI-யை தூக்கிப் போட்டு “மாற்றம்?” என்று கேட்பது கேள்வி அல்ல… காலண்டரையே கேலி செய்வது. 🤦‍♂️

முதலில் CPI என்றால் என்ன, YoY என்றால் என்ன என்று படித்துவிட்டு வாருங்கள். பிறகு பொருளாதாரப் பாடம் எடுக்கலாம். 😏

Actual fact என்ன? ரெண்டே ரெண்டு clearance தான் கிடைச்சிருக்கு. Environmental Clearance இன்னும் கிடைக்கவே இல்ல.

EC இல்லாம Land Acquisition பண்ண, அதுக்காகவே Special Act கொண்டு வந்து, Assembly-ல proper discussion கூட இல்லாம pass பண்ணி, acquisition-ஐ வேகமா முன்னெடுத்திருக்கீங்க.

Let’s answer.
1. We acquired 90% of 5746 acres:
That number doesnt hold up. If 90% was really acquired, why did your own govt’s officials say in Nov 2025 that construction couldnt start without Ekanapuram, and why is today’s reporting saying 1700 acres?
As of late 2025 the govt was in possession of about 3000 acres, but 1900 of those were land the govt already owned, which requires zero acquisition. Actual private land acquired was roughly 1100-1700 acres out of ~3800 needed. Thats nowhere near 90%. He is counting govt poramboke incl the lakebeds as an achievement.

2. Everyone except one village accepted:
That “one village” is Ekanapuram, where the runway itself was planned. About 500 acres were needed from it, and nearly 60% of the 1000 houses marked for demolition fall within it. Officials themselves admitted construction couldnt begin unless residents agreed. So the project’s heart never consented after 1000+ days of protest. And “accepted” deserves serious questioning when acquisition notices are issued and 3-7x compensation is dangled at people facing inevitable acquisition, taking the money is not the same as endorsing the project.

3&5. What will you do with the land/ tell the people?:
Fair questions. And there is a clean answer. Return it. 2013 Land Acquisition Act itself provides for returning unutilized land. Many owners were still farming their acquired plots anyway, since officials said they could use the land until construction began. Nobody was cheated.. they were paid, and a return or retain-with-consent policy can be announced.

4. Land must be used for the acquired purpose.
If the airport is cancelled for legitimate ecological reasons, the law points toward returning it.

6. If another project comes there, will the eco issues vanish?
The objection was specific: a 5746 acre airport flattens and concretes over a catchment where ~26.5% is active water bodies draining toward Chennai. No comparable project is proposed there. And if one ever is, it should face the same hydrology scrutiny, starting with actually publishing the IIT Madras report your DMK govt hid.
