@AJCGlobal's Central Europe office. We cover 🇨🇿🇪🇪🇭🇺🇱🇻🇱🇹🇵🇱🇸🇰, strengthen ties w/ #US & #Israel, support #Jewish communities, & advance democratic values.
We thank Estonian Foreign Minister Margus @Tsahkna for his message to 2,000 Jewish advocates at #AJCGloFo.
As Estonia marks 100 years since becoming the first country to grant cultural autonomy to its Jewish community, Minister Tsahkna reflected on both this historic milestone and the importance of defending freedom and democratic values in the face of modern threats.
He underscored the importance of standing together against the dangers posed by authoritarian regimes like Russia and Iran, emphasizing that boosting European defense spending is vital to protecting global freedom and security.
We are grateful for Estonia’s principled leadership and enduring friendship with the Jewish people.
Thank you to Ukrainian President Volodymyr @ZelenskyyUa for once again joining #AJCGloFo via a special video address.
As Ukraine defends itself against ongoing Russian aggression, President Zelensky's undaunted leadership symbolizes his nation's resilience. AJC steadfastly supports the Ukrainian people in their fight for self-determination and freedom.
Global Forum is the best of AJC.
Students. Diplomats. Community leaders. Allies. Rabbis. Elected officials. Business leaders. Advocates. All coming together from more than 70 countries to write the next chapter of the Jewish story.
It all starts this evening—follow along here and @AJCGlobal!
For 120 years, AJC has stood at the forefront of the fight to protect the Jewish people and strengthen Israel.
At #AJCGloFo 2026, 2,000 advocates from 70+ countries convene at a defining moment—grounded in our history, driven by purpose, and focused on the future.
We don’t just respond to challenges—we shape what comes next.
Here’s to the next 120.
The expulsion of Prof. Joël Kotek from the Belgian delegation to @TheIHRA is completely unacceptable.
Professor Kotek is one of the leading experts on the Shoah and antisemitism in Belgium who has dedicated his life to combating antisemitism and researching genocides. No one is better qualified to serve on the delegation.
We call on the Belgian government to immediately reverse course and reinstate Professor Kotek.
For decades, Hezbollah, backed by the Iranian regime, has endangered the security, sovereignty, and future of the Lebanese people while destabilizing the broader region and threatening Israel through terror and violence.
Over the weekend, the United States rightfully condemned Hezbollah’s reckless threats against Lebanon’s democratically elected government.
Lebanon deserves a future free from intimidation, extremism, and the grip of a terrorist organization that has held the country hostage for far too long. @MarcoRubio
As if we needed further proof that the Iranian regime is plotting terrorist attacks against Jews in Europe, Germany has just indicted two individuals who were working with the IRGC to assassinate Jewish leaders.
We are grateful to law enforcement for arresting the men plotting these attacks before they could be carried out.
European leaders must address the root of this ongoing threat and take a firm stance against the Iranian regime and the IRGC, its primary global terror arm.
The EU has recently designated the IRGC as a terrorist organization. German authorities have been sounding the alarm for weeks.
What is urgently needed now is full and immediate enforcement across all member states, including the removal of Iranian so-called diplomats.

We join Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu and Foreign Affairs Minister Sa’ar in condemning National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir’s abhorrent video taunting and mistreating detained flotilla activists. Given Minister Ben Gvir’s long history of inflammatory and offensive conduct, this latest incident is sadly unsurprising.
Make no mistake: the IDF had legitimate cause to intercept the Gaza-bound flotilla, fulfilling its obligation to protect Israeli citizens and prevent weapons from potentially being smuggled into Gaza.
At the same time, Israeli leaders serving in senior government positions have a responsibility to act in a manner consistent with the rule of law and Israel’s democratic values.
We appreciated the opportunity to brief the @UkraineCaucus yesterday and thank @RepMarcyKaptur for her continued engagement on this critical issue.
We applaud the U.S. government’s strong commitment — shown through recent U.S. votes at the UN and bipartisan efforts in Congress — to condemn, stop, and respond to Russia’s horrific practice of abducting, indoctrinating, and militarizing Ukrainian children.
This terrible crime has traumatized thousands of children and their families and continues to undermine the chances for lasting peace and security in Europe and beyond, more than four years after Russia’s full-scale invasion began.
AJC and our partners, @RazomForUkraine and @SaveukraineUs, urged Members of Congress to ensure that U.S. foreign assistance is provided quickly and strategically to support organizations with the experience and specialized skills needed to help return abducted children and support their recovery, advancing U.S. interests while defending our shared values.
Thank you, Minister Petr Macinka @CzechMFA, for standing firmly alongside Israel!
Czech leadership continues to show courage and principle by rejecting efforts to isolate Israel and by reaffirming the strong bond between the Czech Republic and the Jewish people.
The friendship between Israel and the Czech Republic is historic, genuine, and deeply appreciated. Thank you for your unwavering support and partnership.

In yet another horrific violent attack in London, an Israeli man was beaten nearly unconscious in a Jewish neighborhood after he was heard speaking Hebrew. According to reports, a group of men shouted at him in Arabic, chased him down, dragged him across the road, and assaulted him until he required hospital treatment. No arrests have been made.
This incident comes just two weeks after two Jewish men were stabbed outside a synagogue in the same neighborhood.
British Jews should not have to be on guard 24/7, but this is the reality of London in 2026. Enough words. Now is the time for concrete, visible action.
There’s a dangerous myth spreading on social media. It’s radicalizing people and inspiring real-world violence: Jews have been falsely accused of "blood libel,” which has led to the persecution, massacres, and the expulsion of Jewish communities.
Recognizing hate is the first step to stopping it. That's why AJC created Translate Hate — a resource to help you identify antisemitic myths wherever they appear, in whatever form they take.
For years, we have called on governments to recognize Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) for what it is: a terrorist organization.
We thank @BradSherman, @RepTenney, and @RepMikeLawler for leading Congress in sending a letter to British Home Secretary @ShabanaMahmood urging her to take a firm stance against the Iranian regime and to fast-track legislation proscribing the IRGC as a terrorist organization.
With antisemitic attacks in the UK reaching alarming levels, the British government must act now against the IRGC.

Yesterday, the New York Times published an op‑ed alleging Israel trains dogs to rape prisoners—a modern-day blood libel in the “paper of record.” Allegations of abuse toward Palestinians deserve serious, rigorous investigation.
Yet this piece, while opinion, appeared to be presented as an investigative report and fell alarmingly short of that standard while amplifying inflammatory narratives that have real-world consequences in a time of surging hatred toward Israelis and Jews worldwide.
As one reader astutely commented: “We shouldn’t have to choose between caring about Palestinians and expecting rigorous journalism from the New York Times.”
"Catholic and Jewish leadership have a precious opening to sustain and expand the six decades of the Catholic-Jewish rapprochement together. The Pope Leo pontificate has started strong, and we dare not miss this opportunity."
In @TimesofIsrael, AJC’s Director of Interreligious Affairs, Rabbi Noam Marans, reflects on the evolving nature of Jewish-Christian relations on the first anniversary of @Pontifex’s papacy.
In this new era, our communities have an opportunity to bridge gaps created by disagreements over Middle East conflicts and recommit to understanding one another.

AJC Sofia, in partnership with the University of National and World Economy and The NEGEV Organization of Friends of Israel in Bulgaria, brought together hundreds of leaders from government, diplomacy, academia, and business for the International Economic Forum. The event focused on the “Startup Nation” model and the role of innovation and entrepreneurship in driving economic growth across Europe.
With participation from Bulgarian leaders including President Iliana Yotova and former Presidents Petar Stoyanov, Georgi Parvanov, and Rosen Plevneliev, the forum highlighted AJC’s commitment to strengthening Europe–Israel relations through practical cooperation, policy dialogue, and shared economic opportunity.
“Rarely has the Iranian regime been more isolated, more constrained, and more vulnerable. Now is precisely the time to increase pressure, not ease it.”
In the @Jerusalem_Post, AJC Director of Diplomatic Engagement and U.S.-Europe Affairs @SievekingM argues that Europe must take more decisive action against the Iranian regime—from fully designating Hezbollah as a terrorist organization to enforcing its designation of the IRGC and increasing diplomatic pressure on Tehran.
He warns that Europe has as much at stake as the United States when it comes to Iran’s terror proxies, threats to Jewish communities, global security, and the regime’s growing alignment with Russia.

Congratulations to Peter Magyar on being sworn in as the new Prime Minister of Hungary 🇭🇺, and to the members of the new Hungarian government, including Foreign Minister @_OrbanAnita.
Over the past years, Hungary has become one of Israel’s 🇮🇱 staunchest allies in the world. AJC CE looks forward to continued cooperation with the new government in advancing Jewish life, combating antisemitism, strengthening democratic values, and reinforcing transatlantic ties.
AJC mourns the passing of former @ADL Director Abe Foxman, a towering figure in the fight against antisemitism and hatred.
Abe brought moral clarity, courage, and unwavering conviction to generations of advocacy and leadership.
His voice helped shape the American Jewish experience and strengthened the global fight against bigotry in all its forms.
We extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends, colleagues, and all who were inspired by his extraordinary life and legacy. May his memory be a blessing.
