Saw Asma Jahangir with utter awe and admiration. Wish I could have a fraction of her courage. She had an unrivalled ability to speak the truth and impeccable integrity. Have not seen anybody fighting for the underdog with such zeal. UN has honoured itself by recognising her.
Jahangir became the fourth Pakistani woman to be awarded the UN Human Rights Prize. Before her, Begum Ra'ana Liaquat Ali Khan (1978), Benazir Bhutto (2008) and Malala Yousufzai (2013) were accorded the honour.
