You’ve heard a lot about Umar Khalid through the media. But amid the media witch-hunt against him, there has been very little space for him to speak for himself, especially since he’s spent the last six years in jail.

So I want to tell you a little about my friend Umar, in his own words, as shared with his family and friends.

@AirIndiaX could you please confirm the passport validity requirement to travel from COK to DOH on a Hayya visa. The hayya website says 3 months, but your contact centre could not give me an exact answer.

1% of Gaza’s population has been killed in 44 days. 75% of Gaza’s population is now homeless and the average age of Palestinians killed in Gaza by Israel is 05 years old.

A war on children, while 8 billion people are silent.

[Left] Today's Observer editorial if England had won the 2022 World Cup bid & if the Observer actually wrote about England the same way it writes about the Middle East [Right] Observer's actual editorial today.

So basically, Peter Tatchell and his team came to Qatar to protest, misled everyone about being arrested, lied about being disappeared and 'seized' by police, and then generated all the following news coverage in the mainstream press (who probably won't report that it was false)

[Marc Owen Jones @marcowenjones]

1/ One of the most pervasive and re-occurring pieces of #disinformation about the Qatar has been the figure that 6500 migrant works have died in connection with the World Cup. I wanted to do a thread on how this piece of news has been transmitted on Twitter over the past year

See the hatred in the eyes of that 'women' police. See how she is dragging her hijab. Kerala government is the most hypocrite state I've ever seen. @pinarayivijayan You are the home minister right? I want to ask you the question ''do you have a little bit of shame mister?

A young girl & her father enters OPD
14y and is deeply jaundiced

Teary eyed, her father requests ONLY one thing
"She's advised liver transplant. We are poor. Can you please help us avoid it?"

I look at the girl the father
& brace myself for the worst case I'd ever seen...
