In Unalaska, Alaska, I went directly to the remote island Sen. Lisa Murkowski cited while raising concerns about the SAVE Act and what its documentary proof-of-citizenship requirements could mean for rural Alaskans.
Murkowski argued that a resident in Unalaska, such as a fisherman or teacher, could have to travel roughly 800 miles to Anchorage to present documentary proof of citizenship.
So I went to Unalaska to find out what residents would actually have to do.
At the local DMV, I asked whether we would have to travel to Anchorage to obtain an ID. The employee told me, “No, you can come here.” When I brought up claims that residents would have to make the trip to Anchorage, the employee responded, “That’s strange.”
At the Unalaska Public Library, an employee confirmed voter registration services are available on the island. The library also provides passport services and directed us to the local DMV for Alaska identification.
We then went to City Hall, where the city clerk confirmed that Unalaska remains a polling location. When I asked whether residents would have to go to Anchorage to vote if the SAVE Act passed, she responded, “No, because we still remain as a polling place here.”
A local resident separately confirmed that voting takes place at City Hall and said residents “don’t have to go to Anchorage.”
We also visited the local post office and spoke with residents and fishermen to document what voter registration, identification, and voting services are actually available in this remote Alaskan community.
After visiting the DMV, library, City Hall, post office, and speaking directly with people on the island, I found the people we interviewed contradicted the claim that Unalaska residents would have to travel 800 miles to Anchorage to register to vote or obtain identification.
Sen. Murkowski’s State Director, Karina Waller, accused a member of OMG of “voter fraud” following our previous Anchorage investigation and said she would include the journalist’s name in a complaint to the Alaska Division of Elections and Department of Law.
OMG went to Unalaska to document firsthand what services are available to rural Alaskans and compare what we found on the ground with what Sen. Murkowski said about the SAVE Act.
We have reached out to Murkowski for comment.
If you’ve witnessed fraud in your community or have information, contact us at [email protected] or message us on Signal at 914-491-9395.
🚨MURKOWSKI PROVED WRONG🚨
@JamesOKeefeIII has done it again!
He went to the remote Aleutian Islands in Alaska, where Senator Murkowski said these voters would have to travel to Anchorage just to register to vote.
James visited the Unalaska Public Library & the clerk stated that voters CAN register to vote there
as well as prove citizenship.
This video proves that there is no reason for Senator Murkowski to be against the SAVE America Act.
It makes you wonder why Murkowski is against this country-saving legislation when her voters want it.
🚨 BREAKING UPDATE: Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-AK)'s team is FURIOUS, indicating that James O'Keefe should face PROSECUTION because he simply exposed Alaska's voter vulnerability
Poll workers were going to let O'Keefe vote as Murkowski's BROTHER, Brian
MURKOWSKI'S OFFICE: "Voter impersonation is a crime and should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law."
She opposes the SAVE America Act
And now is ATTACKING the journalist exposing why we need it.
OVER TARGET, @JamesOKeefeIII
HOLY COW
This needs to break the Internet.
@JamesOKeefeIII went to Alaska during the primary on August 18th
& Election Day Workers were ready to hand him Brian Murkowski’s ballot!
Brian Murkowski is the bother of Senator Lisa Murkowski.
Yes, the same Senator AGAINST the SAVE America Act — who won’t support photo voter ID & proof of citizenship to vote.
You can’t make this up!
If you live in Alaska, please share this with everyone you know & ask them to peacefully call, email, & contact Senator Murkowski’s office.
Please also make a plan to vote ✅ YES to Ballot Measure 2 to DEFEAT Ranked Choice Voting this November.
This is a massive, earth-shattering story.
Our elections aren’t secure & the Senate is doing nothing about it.
BREAKING NEWS: O'Keefe Offered Senator Lisa Murkowski's Brother Ballot at Alaskan Polling Location With No ID Required
Anchorage Polling Worker Also Offers Lisa Murkowski’s State Director, Karina Waller's Ballot Without ID on August 18th, Primary Election Day
Murkowski Opposes the SAVE Act, Arguing Voter Documentation Requirements Could Be Difficult for Rural Alaskans
Lisa Murkowski Calls For Prosecution of O'Keefe
I asked the poll worker, “Would it be possible to vote without it [ID]?” They confirmed, “Absolutely possible.”
“You can vote if you’d like to.” The poll workers reassured me that I would still be able to vote without having to show ID.
Poll workers stated, “We’re trying to figure this [voting system] out.”
@lisamurkowski@LisaForSenate
I also agree. This is the primary reason I will not be voting for Bernadette, nothing do with her personally, I don't care about her business practices (though don't look great), I don't care about her having children with a Democrat, etc.
I don't care about personal stuff, I care about what they do and in this video She did a lot to prove that I don't want her to be Governor.
It's on video, I don't have to tell you anything etc. You can watch the video and make your own conclusions.
I will note, Bernadette and her campaign picked a great Lt. Governor @RealMikeShower and he would be a great Governor also. They have also ran a great campaign and I hope they do well.
Bernadette along with everyone on this list is against RCV, so in my eyes, they are all qualified to be Governor in Alaska in 2026.
They are all Republicans and they would do a great job.
So, Vote for who you want and know that @907Honest supports your decision to vote for whoever you want.
Though, if I had my way, we would only be voting for a Republican in a closed Republican Primary.
@SenDanSullivan is a Capitalist.
@MaryPeltola is a Socialist. Through out history, Socialism has never worked. It's always failed. Just like Peltola failed Alaska before.
I'll take a US Marine over Antifa Mary every time.
We’re just days away from our primary election!
Alaska has what’s called an “open primary,” which means I’ll appear on the same ballot alongside every other candidate in this race – including incumbent Senator Dan Sullivan 🧵👇🏻
@roblew9013@MaryPeltola She's Bi-Racial.
Her biological father is German and she's involved with Antifa. She has Socialist values which would be detrimental to our State. Socialism has always failed.
Hope that helps.

@Bernadette4Gov@pamela_melin@lisamurkowski Then you gleefully take a photo op with her afterwards knowing full well that she's been the Worst US Senator in Alaskas history.
Do you think that this was good, sound and thought out judgment?
It does give cause to question your ability to lead.
@Bernadette4Gov@pamela_melin You said you worked on Miller's campaign back in 2010. Joe lost... to @lisamurkowski explain why you look so proud of that?
Fast forward to 2022. Why did you run interference with a reporter covering the biggest news story about RCV and Murkowski's involvement in it?
@pamela_melin Bold fighter you say?
Looks to me like the reporter owned her by basically telling her to zip it and go stand in the corner.
Video doesn't lie nor does our eyes. Even Stevie Wonder can see it.
