Bucket list #3: Write a journal documenting the nuances of trust and logic, the choices between the two, what it means to feel aloof and hopeful and fallible and inspired and so very connected to the people youre with, for better or worse
Bucket list #2: Memorize lullabies. Sing someone to sleep. So what if my voice is scratchy, unused, not hitting the notes just right. It'll sound husky. Perhaps discordant but unique to this moment between the two of us through those errors
Bucket list:
#1 Wrap myself into a soft blanket to avoid the slight chill to the air, murmuring sweet secrets to the figure curled up into my lap, guiding them softly to sleep, watching the lightening flash past the car windows, thunder a second heartbeat vibrating in my chest
I want to read the poetry of a stranger as they scribble down syllables and secrets at 3 in the morning; diary entries written in confidentiality and poetry reflected on with embarrassment. I want to see who this person is when no one is watching or expecting anything of them
I have been flooded by a sudden but incredibly strong desire to give a guy flowers and court him with strawberries dipped in sugar and to feed him them while lounging on a blanket in a park with ancient trees surrounding us and to comb my fingers through his hair while he naps
Scary movies make me giggle. Adrenaline junkie happy endorphins. Jump scares, throw em at me. Please.
Unsettling movies? Eerily too realistic, where one thing adds to another and spirals out of control? Like 2019s Parasite? Creeps me da fuq out. Nope. Red. Hard pass. Blankie now
Knowing the divorce rates makes me treasure all the more the relationship my grandparents have, the cute aging couple who would never choose anyone else to have married all those years ago
I'm not a romantic who requires rose hued glasses, cos they are blurry as fog. When I see the love that dreams are made of, I wanna know that I'm seeing it clearly, w/o illusion. That I'm not seeing just what I want to see. That, if it weren't so okay, I'd be able to see that too
Update: have turned off the weak ass temp control. No difference noted. Thank you very much, I'll take my money back.
... and then promptly spend it all on pretty things
Kinda scared. Do I turn it off and see if anything changes, and vaguely hope I save on utilities? What if I turn it off and it reaches, like, white dwarf solar surface temp?
Sooo. I swear I did more than eat today, peoples, even if I can't list a single other thing that I've done since I woke up. Where has the time gone? Today slid by real fast..
Okay, about my love life:
Worst case scenario, I end up being a cat lady. And dude, cats are rad.
I'd be so down to be a cat lady, bludgeoning people with my purse to make them accept my ugly-af top-of-the-line hand-knitted cat-themed sweaters, an eligible bachelorette with style
I identify as a romantic because I don't believe in always or never or black and white certainties. Its not guaranteed that you'll find your soul mate, and there's also no guarantee that you won't find someone who makes you believe that they're your missing half
I don't view the world through rose hued glasses, because those glasses are blurry as fog and when I find the love that dreams are made of, I want to know that I'm seeing it clearly, that it's real, that I didn't have to exaggerate or sugarcoat in order to perceive that happiness
And to be entirely fair, I'll admit that if I'm in a kitchen, I'm either baking or stuffing my face. So cooking really isn't making it onto my priority list.
