Don't know what to play in Modern? Yearning for the days of midrange/control? Still think Lingering Souls is unbeatable in 2026? Can I interest you in a 22-person top 8 RCQ finish with Mardu Pyromancer? Deck was just as fun as it was 10 years ago. Matchups below. @fireshoes

@Daigo49074732@fireshoes The 4 bowmasters was to pay respect to all the jeskai blink hype with casey and riddler, but ended up not having nearly as much of those decks in our meta, so I could see shaving a bow for a marionette to help the yawg win lines.
Took down the one-slotter at my local 16-person RCQ with Sam Combo! Drew pretty hot all day with multiple turn 3 wins against a decent amount of interaction. Rumbles were a pretty good last minute addition, might add more in the future tbh. Match-ups in the comments @fireshoes
@blakepr Why does it feel like support for Pioneer just suddenly dropped off. It was a multi season RCQ format, a pro tour format, and now itโs not even a Spotlight Series side event. You keep telling us news on the format is coming and then radio silence
@fireshoes I figured, but it's super frustrating because I've been reporting them for the last 2 years for these events and I guess they just get a slap on the wrist and keep getting away with it. Seems like an enforcement issue that wotc just can't enforce.
@wizards_magic@fireshoes and anybody who might have a solution/input:
How do I go about getting stores in my area to fire STANDARD store champs and not just whatever they want? Seems like citing promo usage policy and the threat of reporting/losing WPN status is not enough.
First magic product I ever got was this 7th edition starter deck for my 11th birthday. Didn't even know what MTG was. Mom and dad picked it up at a local hobby shop and thought I'd like it. Little did they know how much I would.
The Modern metagame for #PTEOE is here, and it's a doozy!

Split the Finals of a 2-seater RCQ with my post-cutter ban version of Mardu Pixie! Cosmo does a nice cutter impersonation and is kinda cracked into 2nd and 3rd chapters of Thunder of Unity (aka we have stock up at home). Match-ups in the comments @fireshoes

@ssa00109@CavernOnHumans@SCGCON@fireshoes Fomo's the only other deviation from orzhov/esper, but it does a lot in this deck. Triggers eerie, fixes your hand, good body, and with overlord gets delirium easy for some nutty combats, esp considering you can give it haste with cori. Really impressed me this weekend.
11-4 at @SCGCON Minne RC and 39th overall with my Mardu Pixie brew! Got to play on stream and meet some awesome people. Couldn't ask for more. Deck fed on Izzet all weekend (6-1) and feels well-positioned in this meta. Best of all it was so fun to play! @fireshoes
@CarrRadio10 And for sbing:
In: 2 consuls, 2 dreams, 2 abrade
Out: 3 overlord, 3 spiteful
Consuls self explanatory, dreams can strip coris and creatures, abrade blows up cori.
Overlord too slow and not a blocker. Spiteful's your worst 1 drop in the matchup.
Hope this helped!
