The B.El.Ed. course in consonance with the RTE Act is a dedicated 4-year course to train teachers, especially for elementary education. But, ITEP course would be of just one-year duration therefore would fail to equip teachers with necessary skillset.

The norms and standards for ITEP course would be set by NCTE and National Higher Education Qualification Framework. Further, ITEP is being buldozed without any regard for the time-honoured practices of introducing courses in accordance with DU statutes.
