"Christmas cold wave" is also impacting the Pacific side of Shikoku Island. It's known for warm weather in winter, but it had significant snow on Friday. 14cm in Kochi is the heaviest on record.

The coldest air of the season is gripping Japan, forcing authorities to issue a #blizzard warning for northern Japan.

Sukayu, known as the snowiest place in Japan, now has 129 cm of snow on the ground, 25% higher than normal. Heavy snow will continue into Friday.

At the time when a North Korean missile was crossing over Northern Japan, a weird looking shape emerged on the weather radar.

Apparently, it has nothing to do with the missile, but the radar situated on Mt. Yakotsu was blocked by higher mountains⛰
