I like to think about the state he was in when Ennard left his body. I bet he was puking up his fermented liquified insides for weeks, horrified to find maggots and chunks of himself in the puddle. Being afraid of bugs but waking to find them eating the rot off your body

@Jackie_yenii Ennard would be a fire metaphor for being victim to a mental collapse. His body is rotting, the only semblance of identity he has is now disfigured, and now he has to be, in a way, reborn to be able to keep on. I like to think that Michael took it as a rebirth, to fix his wrongs

Ennard must've also broken and dislodged his jaw leaving him unable to close his mouth or speak until it healed. Can't do a thing about what wants to crawl inside! I think this is a strong metaphor for a psychological collapse
