What if governments passed a GO to remove statues installed after a certain year (say, 2000), regardless of whom they represent, and restricted future statues to designated public parks or memorial spaces?

Instead of leaving those spaces empty, plant a tree in memory of the leader whose statue is removed.

Public land belongs to everyone. Rather than turning it into a contest over political legacies, we could create more green spaces, improve the environment and leave something meaningful for future generations.

Honour the person, protect public spaces, and let the people benefit.

CJP reportedly crossed 10 million Instagram followers in around 5 days, reaching approximately 15.5 million in its initial surge and overtaking the BJP and Congress on the platform.

For perspective, 15.5 million is roughly comparable to the population of Kolkata’s urban area under some estimates. It is also more than half of the Instagram followings of Telugu superstars Allu Arjun and Ram Charan individually.

That is an extraordinary rise for a newly launched political satire account.

Does this prove fake followers or paid promotion? Yes. it raises legitimate questions: What drove such explosive growth? How much of it is organic? What does the engagement data reveal? And is there transparency around any paid promotion?

India is a democracy, not a popularity contest measured by follower counts. Viral reach is a metric, not a mandate. Question the numbers, examine the evidence, and demand transparency.

If TDP cadre feel shortchanged in seat allocation, let them raise their voice. That’s their right. Likewise, every JanaSainik has the right to question and express their concerns.

JanaSainiks also want to see Pawan Kalyan garu reach the highest positions in politics. Some of their concerns come from that very hope they want to see JanaSena grow stronger and eventually stand on its own feet.

These are people who invest their time, money, energy and years of hard work in the party. They have every right to express their views.

Being a loyal supporter doesn’t mean agreeing with everything blindly. You can disagree with their concerns, but dismissing them as overacting doesn’t make you any more of a supporter than they are.
