@ELPinchbeck CFD is not the only route to market. Media will panic and down talk the industry. Reality is projects continuing, driven by good people. This reflects much worse on Government than the Industry.
@SpeakSarahSpeak I think projects will continue unabated. Different routes to market (PPAs). There will be lots of “oh Lordy the industry is doomed” over the next few days - in reality, lots of projects being progressed by great people.
@BazBamigboye@deloreancars @ELPinchbeck Fair point. But I think most people, in the current economic climate would struggle to outlay £10K+ without a return within 3yrs.
Workers from nine different unions will start building a vessel called the Acadia used to stabilize offshore wind turbines.
It'll use steel from Indiana.
It'll be powered by an engine from Pittsburgh.
And its crew will be union mariners.
That's our Made in America future.
@deloreancars @ELPinchbeck I think it’s the initial investment that puts people off. Typical costs were given in the show of over £10K. I would want payback after 3yrs so electric cost needs to fall massively (which it won’t as it’s tied to the price of gas).
