Lawyers' Association for Constitution has written to the Delhi Police Commissioner alleging that Supreme Court advocate Fidal Tom was assaulted by police and is being illegally detained at Sanjay Colony police station after a protest this evening
The association says no arrest memo has been shown, his family has not been informed, and lawyers who reached the police station are being denied access to him. It has sought his immediate release and medical examination

No Impropriety In Justice Ujjal Bhuyan's Comment Against Mass Disenfranchisement : Justice Oka |@DebbyJain
"Nothing wrong in judges talking about this process (SIR) as a citizen", said J Oka
J Oka also shared his experience of SIR, saying he was asked to file Form 8 over a spelling mistake in surname.

Chief Justice Gavai transferred Justice Atul Sreedharan to the Allahabad High Court at the request of the Centre, where he would not be a member of the collegium. Therefore, this gem coming from him, condemning Justice Bhuyan for his remark, is ironic, if not laughable. Justice Bhuyan’s remark does not damage the institution. What damages the institution is that the collegium succumbs to the executive.
Justice Nariman laments that the removal of 90 lakh voters in Bengal did not move the Supreme Court enough to stay the SIR process.
"In West Bengal elections, 90 lakh voters were disenfranchised; that is an astounding figure. 90 lakh voters getting disenfranchised did not somehow move the Supreme Court enough to stay this. Out of those who were disenfranchised, some 22 lakh voters actually filed appeals. The others must be people who don't have the wherewithal for access to justice. And of these 22 lakh voters, some 1 lakh voter appeals were decided 93% in favour of the voters. So, you can imagine this was a completely illegal knocking out of the common man, the citizen of India, in order that a government obtains what it wants. And in West Bengal, we saw, it ousted the Government of the day and brought in the Government of the Centre . Now, these are very very disturbing things that are happening in our country today."
Breaking: After the outrage on Targeted deletion of 243 Muslim voters via form-7 deletion, The BJP leader H.K Dinesh has now submitted a confession letter on Oct 1st. The letter says, he is withdrawing the Form-7 objections submitted earlier. Do we need any further proof of vote theft? @DKShivakumar@PriyankKharge@prakashraaj
@shivululu Keep fighting for what you stand for. Ambedkar fought against the caste system his entire life and changed the path at the last moment. So fight frist then think about it.
Poor Bengali Muslims are among the most oppressed communities in India right now.
Even with valid legal documents, many are being pushed towards Bangladesh.
This should be one of the most important issues right now, but hardly anyone seems to care apart from a few journalists.
So @ceo_karnataka releases a statement asking EROs to take legal action against those filing for bulk deletion with Form 7 with false claims. There are reports that BJP BLAs are threatening locals not to report/highlight such cases.
#Watch | Booth Level Officers received bulk Form-7 applications seeking deletion of Muslim names. They were reported at at least six polling stations in Belagavi North Assembly constituency — four in Veerabhadra Nagar (polling parts 194, 195, 196 and 199) and two at the Government Kannada Higher Primary School in Shettigali (polling parts 209 and 210). BLOs at these stations told The Hindu that two men, claiming to be from the Belagavi City Corporation, brought a bulk of Form-7 applications seeking deletion of only Muslim names. The voters’ names and other details were pre-filled, while the objectors’ names were either handwritten or left blank.

Filled form-7 targetting Muslim voters in Karnataka. - The Hindu report.
BLOs told The Hindu that two men claiming to represent the Belagavi City Corporation brought the bulk forms and urged them to sign quickly. Some BLOs said they signed under pressure, others refused or tried to reach supervisors. The men allegedly called someone posing as the ERO to tell the BLOs to sign. The ERO said his name had been used without his authorisation and that he gave no such instruction. When some of the objectors whose details were on the forms were contacted, they confirmed that the names and phone numbers were theirs, but said they had not filled out the applications against anyone.
Deletion requests of Muslim voters in Balki constituency even after deadline of September 23. The Form-10 report shows 1,131 applications were received between September 24 and 29, of which 1,123 were bulk filings.
