How Repetition Solidifies Memory
A new study found that repetitive practice significantly changes the brain's memory pathways, enhancing skill improvement.
Researchers trained mice to recall odor sequences, observing that memory representations in the secondary motor cortex became stable with practice.
Using a novel microscope, they tracked neural activity in 73,000 neurons, revealing how practice solidifies memory patterns.
These findings could help develop treatments for memory-related disorders.
