Talking about machine consciousness is pointless. Consciousness isn’t one thing. Consciousness is a constellation of related concepts. LLMs obviously meet some of these components, obviously don’t meet others and have ambiguous state for still others.

@mimi10v3 I find it very frustrating to work with. Maybe it is smarter than I am but it will pick some tangent in the problem I'm working on and try to circle that. Keeping it on productive tracts is challenging.
