@WhoseFootball@premierleague@ChampionsLeague These rules are uefa driven. To curtail PL clubs from dominating European competition and asset stripping other leagues. PL’s rules are actually far more lenient. What do you want Masters to do? Let clubs spend what they want and lose our European spots?
@thatbitterbloo Also, Villa sanctions are not from Masters and some PL conspiracy. They’re driven by UEFA. If we want our teams to play in Europe, they have to comply. Unless you want to go back to the post Heysal days where Everton we’re screwed over because of actions of one club
@thatbitterbloo You mean the side who just got battered by Brighton…who sell their best players every summer?
They’re classed as a selling club, cos they are, but Villa have sold all their senior players AFTER recouping 125m for rogers yet that’s not being a selling club. Bizarre
Liverpool like us have spent an obscene amount of money. Yet they’ve gone backwards. Winning the transfer window rarely actually means winning on the pitch. Slow and steady tends to win the race.
Ain’t none of these bums beating Arsenal, sadly.
While they’re all changing managers every week, they stood by theirs through some whoopers and are reaping the rewards.
@Villamad5 When did you have to sell Tielemans, Digne or Konsa? Wasn’t that just down to combination of incompetence from putting ridiculously low releases and lacking ambition by selling your best defender to a direct rival without even getting a replacement?
Aston Villa are under absolutely no financial pressure to sell Watkins. As they were not for Tielemans, Digne and Konso.
But their fans will blame everyone but their owners blatant lack of ambition and desire to maximise resale value.
