if i see one more stupid statement like this—pointing out how previous books have had sensitives topics and therefore we should've been prepared for a rape scene w one of the male leads—i'm going to fucking lose my mind.
it’s honestly insane that after the r*pist love triangle, inserted boards and nonexistent trigger warnings, some of you still defend kbr. obviously people have different tastes, and thats your choice, but dont minimize the anger & disappointment we feel over what they did
we didn't have to ruin it kbr did it all by themselves by marketing a r*pist as a potential love interest & giving zero TWs for the detailed r*pe scene in the book. hope that helps.
but the issue was never the love story though? That’s its own separating thing you cant tie it to what this discourse was about…. It was the lack of TW’s, how the s*x scene was addressed, the marketing used, and when approached the initial response on the authors parts.
“empowering love story” and the author is kbr who promoted the book as love triangle w a rapist and didn’t even acknowledge rape was indeed rape..? 😭 bsffr at least for one second like yall are braindead no morality left in you whatsoever
I find it incredible how some people in this fandom will actively ignore any problematic writing because the overall book is good or wtv, it's okay to call out writers, you won't die
@linaco4u I find it disgusting how a lot of people are sweeping this situation under the rug, kbr will learn nothing from this and they will for sure keep getting worse.
