T'estimem Capitana.
David Bowie posing for the cover of "Ziggy Stardust" on a cold, rainy night in London, January 13, 1972. Photo by Brian Ward. The original photos were actually taken in black and white (as seen here!). The surreal colors on the final album cover were hand-tinted later by artist Terry Pastor. Bowie also had a terrible case of the flu this night, which is why he didn't want to stray far from the warm studio to take the photos. The location is 23 Heddon Street, right under the sign for "K. West"—a furrier company that became an accidental landmark for rock fans.
