@PrettyPrawncess@Carthelan_@unirespecter i think adults should be capable of understanding the world and the opposite sex without needing explicit explanations for everything
@2016archive@owenbroadcast the answers to both questions qualify as trivia for 99.99% of people who technically know them. it's like knowing Dante's Inferno is about a trip through Hell, without ever having read the Divine Comedy.
@FabTheWoker@ShitpostRock in about 20 years you'll be telling us all it's "bestiphobic" not to fuck roadkill, and calling Christians disgusting for saying you shouldn't do it
@badtidingsxxx@CatknightAlex2@BrainbowManic@exanxc the murderer matters because what he's telling you is that murder is defined by you as "impeding the rational actor." so unless you can provide some reason why that should be immoral then you've only said:
"murder is bad because it's murder"
@badtidingsxxx@CatknightAlex2@BrainbowManic@exanxc and i replied that their consideration was incorrect. they do not have an objective morality, they have a subjective preference, illustrated by the example:
a murderer stands before you and asks "why is impeding a rational actor immoral?"
@BrainbowManic@CatknightAlex2@exanxc well of course the point isn't to convince you. the point is to convince enough people that we can collectively enforce our ideas upon you, however you feel about it. we fight to win the audience, not for the benefit of our opponent.
@StefanMolyneux >guy calling himself "tyler durden" using twitter, celebrating mainstream hollywood slop, and blocking replies so he doesn't get triggered
fucking kek
@badtidingsxxx@CatknightAlex2@BrainbowManic@exanxc why should a murderer care one bit about your consciousness or its arbitrary feelings of wrongness?
whether it is better or worse to have an objective morality is irrelevant to the claim presented: that the atheist cannot have an objective morality, for better or worse.
@CatknightAlex2@BrainbowManic@exanxc i guess the problem here is that i didn't find any of those claims convincing either. i think i care plenty about the truth of the matter to change my mind if my position was untrue. i think most people do, ultimately.
@Exachad@MeltingSnowBro "well of course it's wrong for you to steal. that would harm society. but it's morally good for me, and me alone, to steal" says the thief.
what logical, non-religious argument can you make to that?
@ArmoredNorman instead you have the 20 people who have something screaming in your ear that nothing doesn't suck and you're just ungrateful and entitled for saying it does.
see how it works both ways?
