Activists from @fossilfreeLDN disrupted a Republican Overseas UK dinner in Windsor celebrating Donald Trump’s state visit. The event took place at the Guildhall, just minutes from Windsor Castle where Trump is being hosted by King Charles.
Protesters chanted “if you drill baby drill, how many will you kill?” and held banners reading “oily money kills” before being removed. Some were slapped and punched by attendees.
Director Robin Wells said Trump’s fossil-fuel agenda could “kill billions”, citing warnings from the insurance industry that climate breakdown could leave almost half the world’s population dead by 2050.
The protest comes as the UK government prepares a decision on the Rosebank oil field, and days before a mass London demonstration against Trump’s visit.
Four individuals were taken into custody after images of Donald Trump with Jeffrey Epstein were projected onto Windsor Castle, where King Charles is scheduled to host the US president during his state visit to the UK.
According to a police statement, the four adults were arrested on suspicion of malicious communications following an “unauthorised projection” at Windsor Castle, which authorities labelled a “public stunt.”
Donald Trump tells lies. All the time. Every speech, every interview, every rally, every press conference, every tweet. Why don’t interviewers respond “that’s a lie”? Why no headlines “Trump Lies About X”? This fear of the word ‘lie’ is the worst form of political correctness.
