I usually don’t ask for reviews after every project being an introvert makes it kinda difficult 😭
But yesterday, while starting my portfolio redesign, I decided to ask my main Upwork client. I only have two clients, though 😄
I messaged Jake, he saw it and didn’t reply, so my introvert self decided not to ask again 🙂 But this morning, I woke up to this video testimonial. I’m honestly so grateful and happy…!
People are fighting over Figma versus vibe designing. I made my first website with Claude Code last month. I sketched it in FigJam, then built it. Was it the most creative or the best website? No, it was pretty normal. You can check it out here. https://t.co/N2pcYe7mMc
But don’t you miss imagining a section, designing it exactly how you pictured it, and then messing around with it? Making the heading bigger or smaller, changing the alignment, trying three to five versions, and then picking the first one because it was better?
If I do all that in Claude Code, I’m afraid I won’t have full control, and I’ll run into usage limits. Prompting like this can box me in.
I do feel bad about that, and I think it might be the right time to move on and get back to product design and coding working on things I can solve through design and code. I’m okay with learning whatever I need to. I’m still catching up with all these new workflows, but I’ll figure it out….
I’m a self-taught UX/UI designer with 3 years of experience , and last year was the best year of my career so far. I got to work with one of the biggest local businesses in California. Some projects had a lot of pages. I even worked on 200 pages by myself for one project.
I really enjoyed the process. When we had to make a landing page, I’d explore ideas, group the content into categories, figure out the order, and work out how everything should come together. It felt good to think through the whole thing.
I was working with an agency on a freelance contract, so we had limitations around the tech stack and what we could build. But even with those limitations, I loved the projects I worked on with them.
Now our design process is almost fully automated. It feels like we’re using the same template for every project: take a header, pick a hero section, add a few other sections, and the website is ready. At this point, we’re not even doing that ourselves. Bots are doing almost everything for us…
@nocultbro@omgsidewalks Hmm, maybe. It used to be like this before, but now we’re living in the AI era, where perfection means AI, and imperfection or something that looks intentionally low-effort means human.
@nikkuv5787 Ahhh, I can’t be sure about that in my country. A mineral water company intentionally depleted the water reserves in my city, and now we have to buy water from filtration plants......
