Public Consultation No. 3 (Emerging Preferred Route Corridor) – Timeline Update
Date: 10 November 2025
Please find below the latest update on the anticipated timeline for Public Consultation No. 3 (PC3), which will inform landowners and other interested parties about forthcoming notifications and consultation activities.
Key Timeline Updates:
▶️Peer Review: Ongoing
▶️Issuing of Letters to Landowners within the Emerging Preferred Route Corridor: Late November 2025
▶️Presentation to Elected Members: Late November 2025
▶️ Public Consultation (PC3): Late November 2025 – End of January 2026
▶️ Design Team Engagement with Affected Landowners: To commence at the start of PC3
▶️ Independent Agronomist Meetings with Affected Landowners: To commence at the start of PC3
Separate postal letters will be issued to:
1. Landowners whose holdings are located within the Emerging Preferred Route Corridor; and
2. Landowners whose holdings lie in close proximity to the corridor,
based on information obtained from the Tailte Éireann Land Registry.
Please note that the Emerging Preferred Route Corridor presented during the public consultation does not represent the final width of the proposed greenway or the exact lands required to facilitate its development. The corridor simply identifies the area within which a viable greenway alignment may be developed.
At this stage, the indicative corridor is approximately 50 metres in width, although it may be wider in certain areas to account for specific constraints or opportunities. The proposed greenway itself is expected to be approximately 6–8 metres in width.
