El día que pisé el aeropuerto de Ben Gurion, no sentí que llegaba a un lugar desconocido, a pesar de no entender nada. A pesar de no poder leer mas que el “bru jim a ba im” (bienvenido) del pasillo que había visto cientos de veces en fotos.
Quizás es esa trillada frase que dice “a Israel uno no va, a Israel uno vuelve”.

La madrugada que llegamos a nuestra nueva casa, vacía y fria, sentí eso, que era nuestra casa y que pronto sería nuestro hogar.

La tarde que fui al supermercado, y filmé el recorrido de casa al super, un amigo me dijo: hay que sentirse muy feliz para que las cuadras hasta el super te parezcan dignas de ser filmadas.

La primera noche de muchas en las que dormimos en colchones inflables, me sentí aliviada de haber llegado.

En mis primeras clases de hebreo conocí, sin saberlo en ese momento, a los que hoy son nuestros amigos entrañables.
Amigos a los 50. Amigos en el exilio. Habría que inventar otra palabra para describir con precision el tipo de vinculo tan “sui generis” y tan incomparable con otras relaciones.

In 2018, the Mayor of Hebron, a Palestinian city in the West Bank with a population of 220,000 offered Palestinians $5 for killing dogs.

The mayor told Palestinians to kill as many dogs as possible and offered a $25 reward for killing 5 dogs.

Thousands of dogs were then shot and killed by Palestinians in The West Bank.

Images of dogs being tortured, killed and abused by Palestinians began spreading on social media at the time.

Another Palestinian mayor, the Mayor of Tulkarm then followed suit and offered rewards for Palestinians to kill stray dogs.

The mayor who announced the initiative Tayseer Abu Sneineh, had previously been convicted for his involvement in the 1980 Hebron terrorist attack which killed 6 Jewish people- 3 Israelis, 2 Americans & 1 Canadian.
