Chapter 384 showed us that Guts was born between life and death, the physical world and the astral world. Chapter 385 shows him finally becoming one with both sides of himself. The darkness inside him was never something he had to erase. It was something he had to understand. Griffith is the false light hiding true darkness. Guts is the darkness that finally found light.
