@tombennett71 @mike67_morris @MrMatthewMoore As a data set, examination results may have less variance than teacher assessment. But if they don't show the whole picture, you're surely just arguing about them being a more consistent measure rather than a more accurate one.

@tombennett71 @mike67_morris @MrMatthewMoore Not to mention the fact that exams don't assess what pupils know, only what they have done on the day. And … the wholly imprecise nature of examination criterion in some arts/humanities subjects 🤷‍♂️

@tombennett71 @mike67_morris @MrMatthewMoore Surely, examinations are marked by people who may suffer fatigue after extensive periods of assessment. Bias, though not necessarily intentional, is still likely to affect the results for pupils marked at the beginning or the end of the process.
