@marianneheaslip Although for wilmcote house i put in extract hoods with external supply to the kitchen. Both had dampers on that sealed airtight and opened when the hood was turned on. But I’m not hugely keen on extra tech unless unavoidable. Personally oversized recirc and do a bit more on mvhr

@marianneheaslip Looked at this in depth a while ago. There was also a Berkeley study and whole AIVC session on it recently. Personally came out on the side of focusing on the size of the hood and oversizing to catch as much as possible in the hood. Berkeley study https://t.co/0SwGSQc42i

@JurajMikurcik @ecominimalnick Yep any external option is better but there are windows that you just can’t get to externally without ladders and this also has the benefit of when you leave your house you come back to a cool environment and it doesn’t matter if the wind has been up like it was yesterday

@ecominimalnick Well yes, we often hang sheets outside ours but trying to persuade her to allow anything to be fixed externally is a different option plus not possible to some upper windows

@ecominimalnick Have been experimenting with tin foil on the inside of the window in my mothers house. Seems to be making a huge difference, would be interested to see if you can evaluate it.
