Looking online at the few articles and images about this individual / hybrid of a male Proboscis Monkey and a female Silvered Leaf Monkey. It’s known as the “Mystery Monkey”. So lucky to see a one of a kind
Incredibly lucky to see the rare wild #hybrid of a Male #ProboscisMonkey & a Silvered leaf Monkey along the Kinabatangan river In Malaysian #Borneo@NatGeo apparently the only one known. Part of a Silvered leaf Monkey group lead by a Male Proboscis Monkey

@packthevanandgo Cheers for enquiring for me. It’s only an hour and a half from where I’ll be working in Bristol to last minute availability should work out well.
@packthevanandgo If I can get an invite ( if it a invite sort of thing ) I’m definitely not gonna say no. I’m working in Bristol that week so not too far
@cjgiaimo Them before, so a great opportunity to show them. That evening I’ve been seeing what other things I could find and photograph. A few species of gecko and was able to get near to the springhare and just thought why not try the uv on it
@cjgiaimo With difficulty! Using Nitecore chameleon cu6 torch. It’s handheld torch I use when leading expeditions, but both has a UV (365nm) option or powerful standard white light ( 440L ) . I often use the UV part with clients to show them scorpions, as most Brits have never seen..
@cjgiaimo Sure! Particularly interesting to note the article refers to the fluorescence is patchy UV on the springhares, whilst the wild ones I observed was solid uv. Just finally glad to see some information on it!

Expeditions don’t always go to plan, but that’s when the real learning begins! Leader, @AlexFrood, reflects on his experience of leading a team in Africa this summer and describes how a challenging situation enabled the team to shine - https://t.co/WMrr2Xizb7

Not the easiest of birds to photograph, this is a Little Bee-eater. We would spot them most morning having a snack of their name sake.
On Bovu island which is located in the Zambezi river
Not all of the bird life on Bovu do you need to keep your eyes on the sky. For the White-browed scrub robin it’s better to be getting low and on laying over the ground to get to their eye level.
