What an amazing Field Day! Thank you everyone who attended!

The take away message was, it is all about the people. Without our employees who help bring our varieties to the market, universities who perform further research, growers who grow the seed, distributors who sell the seed to the end users who enjoy the product… we couldn’t have had so many great grasses over the past 5 decades.

Special shout out to Duncan Fraser for playing the bagpipes at the beginning of the tour and providing the music for this video.

Forage Friday:
Cowgirl is an endophyte-free tall fescue that is suitable for high-quality hay production and grazing. It is one of the few forage tall fescues that is in the “soft leaved” class and is considered to be very palatable. It yields high digestible fiber and offers winter-hardiness, heat, and drought tolerance. Cowgirl performs well in deep and poorly drained soils. It is best utilized for hay and haylage production and can be an ideal companion with alfalfa. Cowgirl also performs well in pasture grass, offering high palatability and durability against grazing animals.

Forage Friday: TetraGrande is an improved tetraploid annual ryegrass. This variety is of medium maturity, is very high yielding, great winter growth, and rust resistant, making this grass very adaptable to a wide geography. If that wasn’t enough, with the origin of this variety tracing to a pasture within the Mexican salt flat, TetraGrande is extremely salt tolerant, allowing this variety to be used in areas of high salinity. #ForageFriday
