I’ve spoken to half a dozen friends w family in Iran. Every single one has said the relatives they have been able to reach have said something similar to the below.
People don’t fully understand the extent of atrocities The Islamic Republic has committed over the last week yet.
It’s mind-blowing what’s happening in the arts. Mutual agreement on everything is *not required. The creative industries are melting down before our eyes, in their death throes for lack of plurality. And if I don’t laugh, I’ll cry inconsolably..
The country on strike. Massive numbers on the streets. Internet cut. Mullahs seen at Moscow airport. Yet the regime still shoot at protestors. Many dead. But the people keep on coming. The courage of our fellow human beings is staggering. #IranRevolution2026

Please please watch this clip, it was crafted for exactly this. “What-ho, I’m to be married on Saturday.”
“Oh rilly, who’s the lucky filly”
“Don’t know yet — oh, she’ll do”…

@MillieMarconnni It shouldn’t matter but it does, to me, that your post was v obviously written by AI. I may or may not read the paper but the credibility of what you’ve posted goes down to the extent I believe you were not the author.
@steele_mik28277@MeghanEMurphy@BenjaminiteMD Perhaps you should avoid these types of statements in the future. They only serve to alienate. They also make you look like a very particular kind of bore.
@nealasher Dude. I think your own moral compass may have got a little skewed somewhere if you think that others, who have endured similar circumstances to the ones you describe but disagree with you about policy are simply myopic idiots deserving verbal abuse in public.
@kareem_carr Hi Kareem. People are not arguing it’s a difference between the genders, they are arguing it’s a difference between the sexes. To make the distinction clearer, one of these describes something to do with one’s personal idea of oneself, the other describes a biological fact.
@Christakou@PessoaBrain I’m sorry, I can’t remember, it just stuck with me! It’s good though huh!
It helps me think about the instantaneousness of matter and the insubstantiality of time/duration somehow having a meeting place in the moment
@PessoaBrain I have enjoyed:
“The mind is the brain in time. The brain is the mind in space”.
It might not work completely, but I like it.
The physical matter is there in the present moment, the mind endures over time…
@SimonCalder The Plakias Bay Hotel, Rethymno, Crete. Absolute gem. So simple and perfect. Lovely family runs it, fab food, wonderful location. Stayed there in 2016. Looks unchanged. V much looking forward to returning.
@J_A_Quent At least arguable that the claim re ‘lizard brain’ is not nonsense, and certainly not of the form ppl use 10% of 🧠, and you are making a pretty strong claim about his position. That’s what I wanted to address, because it doesn’t seem warranted to me. Hope you’re well Alex 👍
@J_A_Quent It is not the case tho that *none* of what he’s saying makes any sense. He’s pointing out something about early evolutionary motivation, that is the context. And I suspect he’s earned his professorship…
@J_A_Quent Alex.. I do suggest you do a bit of homework here about how this person became a professor.
Also, I would argue that *plenty* of what he’s saying makes sense. Evolutionarily early systems are motivational and may often guide behaviours and processes in neocortex.
