We were told Kim Kardashian and Kanye West would boost Uganda’s tourism. That their visit would bring in $200 million, create 2,000 jobs, and whatever they filmed here would stay online and market Uganda forever.
Till today ,nothing. Not even a single post from Kim about Uganda.
No jobs. No growth. Just another flashy scam to waste taxpayer money while the poor continue to suffer.

The same government released 750 million UGX to a foreign artist for a one-day event to “promote coffee” something our own farmers have done for decades without any help.

How long will you keep watching this happen?
How long will you keep clapping for people who do nothing for you?
To every young person reading this please, wake up.
No one in this government is planning for you. They are securing bags for their children, their families, their legacy not yours.

They want even Ugandans working abroad to pay tax on foreign income,but can’t show you what they’re doing with the money already stolen from you.

The sad part? Even the artists you grew up loving are silent. They don’t speak for you anymore. They’ve joined the system.

I’m not here to fight anyone. I’m just tired of seeing us being fooled over and over again. Tired of seeing my fellow citizens struggle while billions are thrown at PR stunts with zero impact.

Uganda is yours . Wake up. Question more. Demand better.

The self-constructed dilemma with NRM now regarding corruption is that very few people can raise a finger against the other. Each has their own skeletons in the cupboard that they fear will be pulled out once they stand up to condemn the other. The only safe thing for them is to focus on opposition or other pet topics. They can only talk about it in safe very generic terms, but their pretences are tested by giving them a concrete case to handle to prove their commitment against corruption. Then they resort to tongues, diversion, deflection, and vagueness.

Their silence about the scandals of their people in Parliament shouldn’t surprise us. Who is left with moral authority to condemn corruption! This is the reason why those plundering are doing it with untold impunity, knowing how safe they are.

It has also become Mr Museveni’s political management style - call it Management by Distributing Skeletons (MDS). That is, letting everyone become dirty so that he has them in his palm. They are secretly investigated and their files kept, and they are made to know that their file is somewhere.

This way, they will defend his hold onto power to the last dot of their energy. Not just because they benefit from his stay, but also due to the fact that their fate is intricately tied up with his. They know that prison is just a transition away. Also, even if they disagree with him, their skeletons can’t allow them to say a thing.

They only have three choices left with them:
I) Keep quiet and eat;
II) Leave quietly and stay silent;
III) Defend corrupt colleagues
